Thanks to those of you that made suggestions about a good filament dryer. And now for something completely different.  Pay no attention to the goobery areas, I know that's a bed adhesion issue.About 62.5mm up I get this terrible layer skip. I use 300BlkFDE settings to print Bambu PA6-GF and CF. I've had success before with this but now... This is a problem. This is on a Bambu X1C. -I thought it was a belt tension issue so I re-tensioned the belts per the Bambu wiki and then ran recalibration. No dice. -I figured it was a fan kicking on at an inopportune time when it was not supposed to. I've played around with various settings in the .3mf to no avail. Is this an AUX fan firmware issue? If not, what can be recommended next troubleshooting steps? I've got half an Urutau (approved Form 1) printed and need a few more pieces. Any wisdom and knowledge passed would be appreciated.

Possibly a burr or some defect causing a blip at this height? Ah, yes - not a bad thought. I had the same idea. Cleaned/lubed them and didn't notice a difference. |

I think I figure it out. I was able to be present for the height issue and heard a click sound. Turns out the print bed crashed into/through my Bento Box. It was leaning due to filament fragments behind it to cause it to lean out just enough to cause a collision. Running another test piece now. I hadn't printed anything of substantial height recently so I never ran into this issue.  Now will regularly move the bento box to clean behind it. Edit to confirm - yes the buildup behind the Bento Box was causing the problem. Some of those filament colors have been in there over a year. Lesson learned. |
