In the car parts store waiting in line. There was a guy the clerk was helping figure out a part, I had my quart of oil, the kid behind me had some kind of cupholder device and the uniformed officer took up the rear holding a gallon of windshield washer fluid. The kid addressed me and asked me if the cupholder would work in his F-150. "Hell, I don't know. I'm just an old man. I've just been holding my beer between my legs since I started to drive back when I was fourteen and I've never spilled any." The kid looked a bit shocked and the officer smirked and turned his head. Any day I can make an officer smile is a good day. |
