Offhand I would assume fatal accident or completed suicide, with no one else present at time of incident. That much blood loss in one spot is questionable to survive, and suggests the victim dropped where they were shot and remained in that place for a while. If they had been shot accidentally and remained conscious and functional for at least a while, there would be splatter from movement, trying to get aid, rolling around, etc. I'm going to take a wild guess that their head landed in the middle or on the right of the larger vertically bubbled area of blood, and there appears to be a small amount of splatter to the left, possibly from impact of the wounded body part with the concrete. Blood clotting up into clumps like that isn't super common, I've only seen it once or twice before, and it takes a while to congeal like that, which is why I'd bet money on the person being unconscious or dead on the spot. An instantly fatal GSW on a range indicates a CNS hit, so either a remarkably high level of stupidity, or intentionality was involved. |
