Noticed the outside cooling fan was just making a buzzing noise. Got to looking at and I see wires hanging down below the top of the fan blade. They look disconnected, but I don't know what I'm looking at. Do I need to turn power off to this thing, take the top off, and reconnect / hang these wires? Also just got an email from my nest thermostat that says a/c ran from 3:42 pm to 8:04pm and the house warmed 4 deg and that I likely have a fan or capacitor issue. Attached File |

I took the top off of the thing, checked wires, hooked up the open connection, put it all back together. Working fine so far. Hopefully it did not hurt anything being disconnected and trying to run. Cleaned out 3 or 4 inches of mouse debris in the bottom of things while I was in there. I think however those wires were supported failed, wires dropped into the fan and disconnected. I secured them to the main wire harness with a couple zip ties. |
