Yeah, I know there more than a few threads out there about this but I was thinking "how can Trump (and others) think this is good. I like and voted for T$ but don't like the debt increase, here's how I *think T$ is rationalizing it. He is considering tariffs and business investment booming in America as an offset to the current debt and debt increase (basically more income). But as a business man he is aware of cost cutting and trimming the fat to be profitable. If he walked into one of his Hotels everyday and saw the same employee sitting in a chair all day every day playing on his phone, I bet that person would be let go. Imagine you are an individual with a lot of debt, too much in fact. But then you get a new job and now the debt as a percentage, is smaller vs. income. The debt is still there, but now you have the income to offset it and pay it down. So what do you as a debt ridden person with extra income do? Well open up more credit cards of course. >> A wise person would use the extra $$ to pay it off but that's not what will happen. Scenario 2: T$ is a business man, he borrows money to buy properties and make money (Other Peoples Money). >>>But, he has to pay these loans (debt) off, America wont, we'll just keep running it up. I don't think he's kicking the can down the road in his own mind, I think his theory is while running a business, debt can be good, but the main difference is we (America) keeps increasing and never cutting. Sooner or later something has to give. Personally I don't understand the debt ceiling increase, America already has a budget, and raised it considerably during Covid. STOP raising it and work on living within our (America's) means. Let's not make this T$ Orange man bad, but more of a business thought practice why a person would think this is a good plan. I also presume his BBB would get little to no support if the limit weren't increased. Suiting up for the inevitable shit-storm coming. ETA: weird, spell check kicked in on covid like it's never seen the word before, trying to erase history? |
