| Looking at moving my retirement stash from TSP to my Schwab account as an IRA. I am 61 and retired. What would be the downsides? Upsides? |
If you think I am sexy now just wait until you find out I have full medical and dental.

Tsp is not a 403b. Were you a dodea teacher? Whatever you have, if it’s a qualified plan you should be able to roll it over into an ira without any problems. After you roll it over Look into roth converting it before you start SS. Upside is you can roth convert it and invest in anything you want. No downsides beyond some legwork to make it happen. |
| One downside is many 403b plan admins are shitheads and intentionally make it a difficult process. Only wanting to deal with paper checks and paper forms getting snail mailed across the country, then making their way through a building up from the mail room 40 flights. It took me like 6 months to get my mom's 403b rolled over. |
