Our youngest heeler cannot stop instigating fights with our oldest (almost 10) and our aussie. It's wild to me as shes the sweetest dog ever to humans, she'll even cuddle with the kids and strange humans which is usually unheard of for a heeler. I cant keep breaking up the fights, and cleaning up my oldests face. I've got a wife and kids in tears but it's time. If you guys know anyone, we just want to make sure she goes where she will be loved. No issues on lead with a pinch collar. We do occasionally use an E collar for recall if she wanders off (we're on acreage.)    on the right

I hate to hear that you are planning to rehome one of your dogs. Tons of methods you could try and megatons of info from other owners about what works and what doesn't. Please don't give up until you have tried everything. There is a solution, you just haven't found it yet. Had a Blue Heeler female years ago, great dog, adored her..... AFTER... she caught one of the cars she was bad to chase .... roller her good one evening. Very loyal dog, but she was a handful until she got hit by a neighbor (not their fault) ... the hit laid her up for a few weeks while she healed, but she was a lot better dog after that. These dogs need a lot of land to roam, at least until they get hit hard enough. Also had a Red Heeler female, never could domesticate her fully, finally had to give her to a farmer, who made her a barn guard dog (with lots of room to roam)... |
