I just bought a 2015 F350. The PO removed the bed and had a flatbed installed. He never replaced the backup camera (I confirmed by VIN that it came with one and the console barks at me every time I reverse because it can't find the camera). I ordered an OEM camera and the tailgate pigtail that has a 6 pin flat connector. PO said "the connector for the camera is tucked up underneath." I cannot fucking find it. I've gone through every wire back there and I can find 3 unused connectors. 2 are plugged (like from the factory) and 1 isn't, but it's an 8 pin in 4 rows. I thought maybe that was it, but when I pin it out with a meter, the hot 12v pin is hot in any gear, not just reverse. Any ideas? I'm wondering if that 6 pin (but only 5 wire) run terminates in another plug closer to the cab? |

Thank you, those connections are significantly different than the ones on my truck. I found a source for the actual Ford service manual with wiring diagrams on CD so I'm just going to buy one of them. ETA: hopefully I still have a CD drive somewhere

These are the only 3 connectors I can find along the driver's side frame rail that aren't currently connected. 8 pin male, with one 12v pin that's hot with key on in park or reverse:  These two that appear plugged from the factory. Haven't pinned out the 2 pin, but there's no 12v hot in the 6 pin (5 wires 1 empty pin).

Check in between the spare and the hitch on the middle rightish hand side. It's normally there, and half the time the previous owner has broken it by going caveman on it trying to get it apart. It is a black flat 6 pin that is missing one pin. I dont know where that alldata picture is coming from because that's not the connector, nor do I see one that looks like that in ford wiring diagrams. I think you might be missing the whole bumper harness too it looks the same as that corroded 8pin connector you posted. Do your license plate lights and park aid sensors work (if equipped)? That connector is hot and has voltage going to it judging by the corroded pins, that connector needs to be replaced. Some part #'s that may help. Don't hold me to these exact part numbers without a vin i dont know what date range your truck falls into so they might be slightly different. I believe the camera harness is the same on all though.
