ETA: Since his name has been released now, John Hobbs (ARFCom Member HOBBS5624) was killed last night in the line of duty. His partner is in stable condition and I cannot imagine what pain he feels right now with his loss. John was married and has three children. I request that you keep both Officer's families in your thoughts and in your prayers. John and I were both 1911 guys and he loved his .45Auto. |

John Hobbs you will be missed. His Arfcom screen name was Hobbs5624. He was an avid 1911 shooter, smith and collector. He was well liked and loved by those he met. He would give you the shirt off his back and was always willing to help. I would not go so far as to say we were good friends, but we knew each other, spent time together, and some deals on gun stuff. For those that don't know him he was a TRUE Sheep Dog. He worked a very dangerous job, he was diligent in his training. This is a big loss.

I've asked the OP to edit the OP to show one of the fallen officers was indeed a well known and well thought of member who was a special ARFCOMMER.
I will tack this thread. As far as I know this is the only officer who was a ARFCOMMER who has fallen in the line of duty. [I'm sorry, if there is another that I don't recall] It is very shocking to me personally. |
