This was so fun. We grew a very large eightball zucchini in our garden this year. Obviously too big to eat. Didn't want it to go to waste so we decided to use it for target practice. We set up about 75yards away with cowboys rifle. I took the first three shots and then there is a pause at the end and cowboy takes the final shot. All four shots hit. My second shot is almost invisible because it hit right below my first shot. Also, the first time shooting that particular rifle for me.

Now you're making me wish I would have gotten the 300 out and used it. Maybe next time. We need to do some work on our backstop to make it a little safer and beefier. Then maybe we can start shooting more and more food items.

Until you get hot brass in them, my wife and I had this circular discussion about 2 years ago...  So I let her "win" the argument but put her boots & socks in the truck when she wasn't paying attn.  Well about an 1hr into shooting a piece of hot 45 brass lands on her right foot....  I was paying very close attn. and took the gun when she started to react, told her the ice pack, her socks, and her boots were in the truck.   We resumed shooting about 30 minutes after and she was much happier

Just a heads up, not sure about the laws in NV, but here in AZ the Forest Ranger gave me a warning about shooting ACROSS any traveled street or trail.   Otherwise,  enjoy the hobby!

The area shooting over is actually a wash and not a road. The road is to the right side. Not that it matters because I'm pretty sure your not suppose to shoot within 1000 feet of and traveled road anyways. Lots of people go out there to shoot junk which I'm not a big fan of because it trashes the desert but I figure if its there then shoot it. I never really bring junk but when I do I clean everything up and I always clean up more than I bring to at least try to help the environment.

Thanks for your info however, I do appreciate it.

My baby girl shooting a 500 S&W. She's pretty much not afraid of anything that walks the earth LOL. Shooting, flying, kayaking, jumping out of perfectly good airplanes with her grandfather on his annual birthday jump, moving alone to a strange city after college to chase her dreams. She just bought her own house at 24. AND she shoots every bit as good as her two Marine brothers. Hells yes I'm proud of her.

This thread is awesome! I love seeing women getting involved in the sport. Very refreshing. It seems like too often they either have no interest, or try to get into it get scared away for various reasons.

Keep it up ladies!

Wow, she IS awesome.  I have a little issue with heights so I haven't jumped out of any aircraft lol, ironically it's something I always wanted to do.  Unfortunately now after a back injury and the arthritis that follows I'll never have the chance to do it.

Is that a pink ultralight?

Yea it's pink. That's a Moyes Dragonfly tug. It's designed to tow hangliders aloft. This particular one is based out of central Florida at Quest Air. She was there for a tandem hanglider flight not to fly the tug. (although she did get to ride along with the tug pilot on a later tow flight.)

Quest is a pretty cool place. If you are ever near Orlando you should go.

Went to visit the boyfriend this weekend and he let me shoot a bunch of his guns.

This also means I had someone to take pics of me shooting! He marked the brass flying for another forum.

This was one heavy, but FUN rifle to shoot!

We had some quality bonding time loading up mags and clips.

I am due for a free AR rental at my local Range and offered it to my wife but she wouldn't have it. So I am not rushing anything and will stick with what I can get her to do. I am trying to get her on a small pistol like a Glock 42 or maybe a .22 revolver.

Here are her videos as she won't shoot more than a couple rounds at a time.

Slow is good. I'll be honest and say it took me years to build up the courage to shoot more than a mag at a time. Just keep encouraging her. She looks like she has a good start. Is she doing a thumbs forward grip? It's hard to tell from the videos. I definitely recommend getting her a 22 but I don't usually recommend a revolver. It's just more steps with less capacity. Get her a little walther or something similar. I also never recommend a 380 for a beginner. Keep her on a full size 9mm. It's going to handle the recoil better and they are just easier to learn with.
