His leadership is finally being seriously challenged. The man is 80 years old! Mitch McConnel either doesn't have the energy or the inclination to lead the GOP to victory. At any rate, he should have retired long ago, but like so many of his colleagues who are in their 70's and even in their 80's like Mitch he is clinging to power refusing to recognize that at his age he not only no longer possesses the capacity to lead, but is far removed from the average citizens of this nation he seeks to govern. When we head into 2024 let the GOP be seen as the "Young Party". Let the GOP's leadership be men and women in their cognitive primes (40's and 50's) versus the geriatric Democrats who are in their 80's. It can be the Generation of the 1980's versus the people in their 80's. Let's finally have those people who grew up under the new brand of Reagan conservativism, the "Rush Babies" who are now highly successful proven adults be the ones to finally take the reigns. The Boomers, like Mitch, have been collectively in control for thirty years and ask yourself "have things gotten better in that time or worse?" It's our time now, it's Generation X's time with our brother and sister conservatives of the Millennial and Z generations to rise up and finally form a party that requires cooperation between generations rather than one monolithic generation ruling. A new Dawn can be ours that can lead us out of this darkness and into the light. We can call this change "Red Dawn."  |
