I need to to try to describe our property first so here goes.  I live on one acre of land.  Looking out the back of our house we have farm fields to the right side of our land, fields to the rear and the back half of the left side of our land is fields.  The front half of the left side is our neighbors property and between our property and our neighbors is the old farm line, a ten ft wide patch of poison ivy, weeds and small shrubs that separated what used to be 2 farms.  The fields surrounding me are planted in rows of either corn or alfalfa and each year they swap what's planted where.

We have a deck on the back of our house and it has lilac  bushes on the back and left side, so we cant see our neighbors property easily when on the deck.

One summer night I happened to see a beautiful sunset through our back door and i walked out on the deck to admire it.  As I stood there, watching the sun drop below the distant tree line I turned to go back inside but heard talking off towards our neighbors.  It was two people talking in kind of whispers, like the words were indiscernible, like whispers but it was clearly 2 distinct voices.  I positioned myself to get a view through the lilacs to see who would be out there, where the poison and thistles grow and I saw two white people standing in the farm field right where my land, my neighbors land and the field meet.  WTF?!  Is that my neighbors wearing white sheets?  I stood there trying to get a better view for a few seconds and could clearly see two people but I could not understand why they were white, head to toe.  So I walked to the steps at the back of our deck and walked down into our yard so I could get past the lilacs.

As soon as i was in clear eye-shot i realized my eyes weren't decieving me.  Two beings, completely white, were standing there talking to each other.  They were tall, like 8 ft tall.  They were humanlike in build but had no distinguishable characteristics.  I stood there, staring at them when suddenly they both turned and stared at (faced) me.  Instantly one of them ran off to the left, towards the front of our property and out of sight and the other ran down through the alfalfa field at an astonishing rate, and as it did, it let out the most evil sounding squelching shriek I've ever heard.  It ran maybe 1/10 of a mile down the field in about 2 seconds and then stopped there but continued to make this evil constant howling/screeching noise.  I stared at it and then it darted off to the right into a row of corn.

Not being a complete pussy, I quickly ran inside and grabbed a flashlight, as it was getti g darkervand darker now, and my S&W Shield and went to where the 2 things were initially standing.  There was no indication of anything physical breaking through the property line into my neighbors back yard.  And the brush and thistles were way too thick and tall for a human to just speedily run through them.    I walked down the field towards where the second thing entered the corn and as I got closer to that spot there was the most spine tingling howl I've ever heard.  It was so loud that it seemed to come from all around me and it was unlike anything I've ever heard an Earthly creature make.  The hair on my neck stood up and I became terrified. I pussed out and ran back home as fast as I could.

I've never seen nor heard anything like that again.

Anyone have any ideas?

Great stories.

Here's mine.

I woke up with a horrible dream that the left front wheel of my Ranger came off while my then wife was driving and she and my daughter were killed.

The very next night, they come home and the wife is telling me that the truck was making noises.
I jump in and start it up. Sounds normal.
I back up and it sounds weird. I take off and this terrible "whoop whomp" sounds amd speeds up with acceleration and stops after about 20mph. I stop and do it again.
Then I get out and look at the front end.

Both front wheels have loose lug nuts. Only 2 on the left front ( didn't even think to look when I jumped in) were still there and the holes in the wheel were all jacked.
The other side was missing one and the rest were loose.

Freaked me out.

Wow! Someone was watching over your folks via your dream.

I had never before, or since experienced loose lug nuts.
And why would I have that specific dream the very night before?
I remember being freaked out on the test drive to my findings of that wheel about to come off.
To this day, I can not explain that.

I've posted some of my stories in the creepy thread.

One that I still can't figure out was this one:

One night, I was outside grilling steaks and brats after dark.  The builder of my house put minimal lights outside, so I carried my Streamlight Stinger with the Terralux LED upgrade outside to help me see the food on the grill.

I was playing around with the new LED upgrade, shining it on fence, around the yard, when I pointed it straight up toward the sky and turned in on.

In response, a light came on in the sky.  It was round, just like you would see a spotlight a good distance away, but it did not cast a beam on me.  I turned off my Stinger, and the light turned off.

I did not hear nor see an airplane or helicopter overhead and there were no navigation lights of an aircraft visible.  I still don't know what turned that light on and off.

I have had many experiences over the years, a lot of which confirm my belief in God.

__________________________________________________

1.  When I was in high school and college, I lived at my family's ranch, same one I manage now due to my dad being deceased.  You have to travel nearly a mile on a dirt road to reach the pavement, and there's a stop sign there.  Being in the middle of nowhere, I never ever stopped at that stop sign.  One day like any other day I proceeded down that dirt road to the stop sign, and just as I was about to get onto the pavement again without stopping at the stop sign, "SOMETHING" picked my foot up and put it on the brake.  Just as I put my foot on the brake, a car zoomed by on the paved road going way over the speed limit.  Had "something" not picked my foot up and put it on the brake likely everyone in both vehicles would have been killed.

2.  When my dad died, I took over his ranch and my mom moved to an apartment in town.  My dad was cremated, and I placed the container with his ashes on the fireplace mantle until we could decide what to do with them.  As the weeks went by and I got used to living at the ranch again, it seemed like every other week or so something would break or have to be repaired suddenly.  I know old appliances and whatnot fail, and when  you live in an old house things do break, but it was getting ridiculous.  I'd no sooner get the front door latch repaired, then something else would break or stop working, and so on.  Finally, the clothes dryer wouldn't come on and I had to call the repairman.  He came to the ranch, examined everything, and finally figured out that the breaker had simply tripped.  He gave me some speech about 240 volts and two houses running their dryer at the same time caused a power surge and blah blah, but that didn't hold water in my mind.  There was only one other house on our "grid" and it seemed really unlikely that they would just happen to have been using their dryer the same time I was.  I started to put two and two together and glanced over at my dad's ashes sitting on the mantle.  Could he.....nah...no way.  Yet I couldn't deny that the sheer volume of things breaking went against probability even for an old house.  I've lived in many old houses and apartments in my life and NEVER experienced breakage with that frequency.

I called my mom up, "Come over right now.  We're spreading Dad's ashes. "  I explained to her why and she reluctantly went along with it.  We spread his ashes over the grave of his favorite cat that day.

The breakages STOPPED.

A few days later I was sitting in the living room reading with no TV, no radio--nothing making any noise.  It was absolutely quiet in the house.  I distinctly heard a moan from a male voice inside the house near the front door.  It was the only time I ever heard such a thing.

3.  Some will call this a coincidence, and maybe it is, but it's kind of strange anyway.  I hadn't been in a relationship for a long time and was praying for a new girlfriend.  I started imagining what she might look like, what we might do together, etc.  For some reason every time I'd have thoughts about meeting someone, the image my mind assigned to the daydream would be that of TV host S.E. Cupp.  It wasn't something I consciously did; I don't sit around fantasizing about S.E. Cupp.  It's just that my mind picked that "icon" as my daydream image.

A couple of years went by, and I was shopping at a grocery store.  When I went back to the truck, there was a flyer under the windshield advertising a film about government conspiracies the following night at a local church. At first I thought, "Well, that might be interesting, but..." and in that instant I felt a reassurance that if I wanted my prayers answered I should go to that church service.

To make a long story short, I went to the church service, and met my current girlfriend.  We have been together seven years now.

Guess what?  She does kind of resemble S.E. Cupp, especially in this picture:

Attached File

Unfortunately, our relationship hasn't been the same over the past few months.  I've begun to feel that our time is short and that I will be meeting someone else soon.  For some reason, when I daydream about meeting someone new, my mind has chosen the icon to be someone who resembles Noomi Rapace......

Stay tuned...

Weird

Living in the middle of nowhere rural East TN. I was maybe 9-10. My parents were in the process of building and finishing our house but we were living in it. There was no porch up to the front door and the door knob was probably about 14-15’ up from the ground. As I was sitting there watching tv the door knob starting shaking violently like someone was trying to get in. I yelled for my mom and we opened the door and looked and saw no one. If someone was trying to break in we had the door around the side that we used.

Same house. My friend stayed over one night. We were sleeping in the living room. I got up to take a leak outside and he followed (bathroom was still unfinished and this was before the incident above, if you had to drop a deuce there was a bucket or you walked up the hill about 300 yards to my grandparents. Anyway as we are standing outside we saw a tractor driving through the field next door. Only it was silent. And this was like 1am. It just kept moving slowly toward us. We high tailed it inside and eventually went back to sleep.

I also saw phantom fishermen last year in the same area. Taking my kids up river walking and swimming. They were yelling and told them to be quiet because I saw some guys fishing out of a boat. Only as we got up to the island where I saw them floating there was nothing. I’d seen them plain as day. Two guys. Silver Jon boat. One guy in a yellow shirt the other in a dark shirt. But they weren’t there when we got there.

Hancock county TN is weird ok?

On the weird but I guess you could say spiritual stuff I’ve recounted this one a number of times and will continue to do so

“My wife and I lost our first child 1 day before she was due. We've been blessed with two little girls since then (2010) and that's a different story altogether. However, this story is related to our first, Caroline. Her gravesite is on a family plot at my parent's place. On a trip to visit my parents one day, we kept hitting butterflies flying across the road, and there's one place where they really like to congregate maybe a half mile before my parents' place.

To most, who cares? But my wife had gotten involved with an online forum for women who'd lost children, and they used the butterfly as a symbol of their grief or in rememberance and so she'd held that in mind and hated we hit butterflies seemingly all the time. Silly, probably, but it is what it is.

After dodging and weaving through butterflies on the hour plus trip up there, just past the congregating spot I mentioned; I said to my wife "I really wish your group had picked something else, something you never see flying across the road to have to dodge, etc, like a dragonfly". Thinking nothing of it, we pulled into the driveway that leads to their house. It's about a .25 mile drive from there. About half way up the hill, just below the graveyard, a dragonfly flies across the road. Then another. Then multiple dragonflies. Probably 15-20 dragonflies altogether when I can't recall ever having seen one in that area ever before, and i used to walk those roads all the time when I was a kid.

Make of that what you will. But we know who we believe in, who we worship, who we believe is with us. I don't go around seeking signs and wonders, but I'll gladly take them.”

Ever seen a "black helicopter?"

Well, I have.

Black helicopter memes have become the butt of jokes about conspiracy theorists and the term has even become an epithet when referring to "black helicopter" types, etc.

During the 1993-1994 paranoia over looming gun bans, the Waco seige, and other government shenanigans, people were supposedly reporting "black helicopter" sightings as common as UFO experiences.

The image was always the same:  an unmarked black helicopter.

Well, I actually saw one.  It was an unmarked black Cobra gunship, only with no weapons on the side pods.  It was flying over a residential area around 5-5:30 pm . I saw it on my way home from work.

The strange part is that from where I was viewing it, I should have been able to hear the sound of the rotors beating the air.  I could hear nothing even with my truck windows rolled down travelling at about 35 mph.  Also, the rotors appeared to be rotating a lot slower than you'd expect from a helicopter.  They spun at an almost leisurely speed--more like a windmill in a light breeze than helicopter blades.

As I continued toward home,  I lost sight of it.  Trying to pay attention to the road ahead and my driving, I couldn't keep my eyes on the helicopter for more than a few seconds at a time.  I never saw it again.

Because of the silence and the weird slow speed at which the blades were turning, I almost think it was more an apparition than a physical helicopter.

I just don't know.

My wife and I went to her grandmothers house in Pittsburgh when we were pregnant with our first kid. After everyone went to bed I was dozing off in the spare bedroom and I heard someone walking up the stairs, plain as day. I was terrified. Here I am in bed with my pregnant wife, grandma in the next room, I have no weapon (shame on me I know) and why in the hell is our 100+ lb Rhodesian Ridgeback just laying here sleeping? Lazy ass...

I could see from the bathroom light in the hallway the top of the stairs but nobody came up. I heard it, I heard someone walking up the stairs so where are they? I laid there frozen for what seem like two hours before I finally nodded off to sleep.

The next morning at breakfast I told my wife and her grandma what I heard and how scared I was. She asked what time it happened I said I think around 11:30PM to which she said it was Grandpa; he comes to bed every night at 11:30 after the news is over. She even said she feels the bed move every night like he's sitting on the edge taking off his slippers.

Scared the hell out of me and made me a believer in ghost.

I have a ghost or spirit in my laundry room. Fucker has knocked a big container of laundry detergent off a dead level shelf twice. First time was late at night, I was in my office and heard a big thud in the other room. There was the jug on the floor leaking. Left a huge mess to clean up. Second time I was in the garage with the door to the laundry room slightly ajar but I couldn't see in there but was right on the other side. I heard the thud opened the door, the cap had come off and the jug was going "glug, glug, glug." Hasn't happened in a long time. There is no earthly explanation for this. No earthquakes or any other BS that would explain this and again the shelf is dead level.

Pictures of the area rug that got detergent on it after the second time where I was able to pick up the jug before it leaked everywhere. Picture of the damage to the jug from where it fell.

Had this convo the other day with the missus.

One day my girls and I left the house to go do something. As we came out of the front door, a small leaf from one of our trees fell near us...and stopped in midair, suspended motionless about 3 feet from the ground. I pointed it out and the kids were just as baffled.

Thinking it must have been attached by like a strand of silk or something, I ran my hands over the top of it. It didn't budge.

Determined to figure it out, I waved my hands over it, to the sides of it, every which way...nothing, still stayed there suspended.

I took a moment to scratch my head over the situation. Static electricity? My hands would have at least disrupted the field, maybe?

Before I thought to pull out my phone, gravity seemed to stop napping and the leaf fluttered to the ground.

No idea to this day.

Jesus. Stuff of nightmares

There is a heaven and there is a hell. There are angels and demons and people sold out either to God or Satan and the vast amount of people caught in between. I read your story OP and believe that an angel made those tracks. The other story is definitely demonic and some kind of twisted sacrifice was going on I feel.

I have many stories that I can't explain as they are miracles but I will post one that changed my life forever.

Many years ago, I came to believe in God so strongly that I couldn't deny His existence.  I had read some tracks about Jesus, some believers had witnessed to me and I even said the Sinner's Prayer at the back of one of those tracks, probably more than once.  But receiving Jesus in your head is way different than in your heart because sometimes with some people the two can be far apart as the case with me at that time.

I was working the night shift in a college as a dorm matron in the South West part of the USA.  I was at a point in my life where my lifestyle filled with drugs, alcohol and meaningless relationships were taking their toll on me.  I was getting discouraged that nothing that I had planned for my life was working out.  I was falling deeper into an addiction that helped cause that and I couldn't quit.

One night, I took a break about 2am and went outside and started praying.  Not a prayer out of a book but a prayer straight out of my heart.  Much tears and weeping was in this prayer.  I let God have all the pain, frustration, hopelessness, and disappointment I was going through.  I prayed and after I said all that I was still.  Now today, I know it was the enemy who was right there too because my first thought was, nobody is listening and you are just wasting your time, go back to work.  So I turned around and started walking back to work.  As I was walking, I heard a noise in the quiet night air.  It was an animal noise of some sorts and it was off in the distance.  It just caught my attention but as I started to walk on, I heard a still small voice inside of me say, "go and check it out".  Not in a hurry I turned to the direction of that noise and started walking.  I kept walking till I reached the edge of the campus I was on which was set in the countryside way out of city limits.  As I walked, again that still small voice spoke to me and said, "now stop and look up".  I did and immediately I saw the most amazing thing that I will never forget.  It was a light that came out of the night sky like a lightening bolt but straight as an arrow.  It was so bright, it burned its image into my eyes so I could see it after I closed them because it was only there an instant.  I called it God's finger and it touched the ground about a mile in front of me and then it was gone.  After the shock wore off, this overwhelming sense of peace flooded my very being and I knew then without a doubt that God is real and He hears our prayers no matter what lies the enemy tells us.
God knew I needed that sign because later on, I walked my own way caught up in selfishness and not fully understanding His love.  It was a walk in the wilderness but He was there every step of the way, patiently loving me giving as much as I could recieve.   I could have made some very wrong turns because the enemy sure did put the temptations there but I remembered that night and it carried me through much darkness and pain.
Now today, I am walking strong with my Lord and Saviour, Jesus and He leads the way this time.  Not me and my foolish thoughts and plans.  Where He is leading me, I don't know, but I do know to just trust Him each and every day.  I am so excited to have an opportunity to serve the Almighty.  Praise God.

It was maybe 5 years ago.  Its 50 ft from our deck to the edge of our property, close enough to identify a person you recognize.  My wife was home and I told her about it when I went in for the flashlight and pistol but she didnt care much.  I posted the same story years ago in one of the creepy threads.  I dont do drugs and that night hadn't had anything to drink.  I cant explain it, as it was unlike anything I've ever seen.

You are not familiar with the term "shit eating dog".

The pant load you left was lunch for some starving stray or coyote.

Lots of things cart off turds. Once, when I was camping with some family and friends, my friend came back from taking his morning constitutional. Wide eyed and carrying an excited look on his face, he says: "Dude, this is gross, but you have got to see this...it is amazing!" I follow to what had been our outdoor privy patch these few days. It was gross, but amazing and gross. The privy patch had become a magnet for dung beetles. Steve told me he just finished and a big beetle made a beeline for the new product. By the time I got there, four were fighting over and carving up the new steamer he'd left.

I have two that I have only told family...Here they are...Totally true too.

Back around fall of 1986, I lived in Tennessee. I was engaged to a girl and she and I decided to make a trek to a local place called Hinch Mountain which was an uninhabited area composed of an unmanned FAA station, VORTAC and miles of nothing but woods. The mountain was over 3000 feet tall. It was around 2:00AM or so. There is a long gravel road that snakes up the mountain. I had a Datsun 280Z at the time. I was unarmed and no flashlight, (I know...dumb).

When we reached the top of the mountain, there was a gate that had "prongs" on it facing the ascending road to stop idiots from ramming the gate with their truck and driving all the way to the VORTAC, (I guess it was designed to puncture their radiator if they tried?). We parked in front of that gate and walked the rest of the way up to the summit. Within 50 feet of the VORTAC, we walked into the thickest fog I have ever encountered. You literally couldn't see you hand in front of your face... Very cold too. We decided to walk back to the car without even going all the way to the top. However, there were more towers on a road that veered off on a side road that was parallel to where my car was parked. We decided to walk down to those towers, and I remembering telling the girl, we'll just cut through the woods to the car without walking all the way back around the road.

When we got down to the towers, directly in front of us, we froze...Directly in front of us we could hear a human being stepping through the leaves. It was NOT an animal stepping, but human. It scared the shit out of us and because the fog was so damn thick and I could tell that it was headed in the direction of our car but it was in the area of the woods that we needed to cut across to get to the car... I told her to RUN like hell back up the road and then down to the gate. We got to the car and I spun back down the mountain and immediately the fog cleared. Unbeknownst to me, my girlfriend had a small pocket knife in her hand and she had gripped it so tightly, that she had cut her palm. Scary as hell.

The rest of the story...About three years later, I was at a Civil Air Patrol "fly in" at the local airport. They showed some slide shows of various airplane accidents, and when they showed one, I about shit because I immediately recognized the spot. It showed a mangled USN fighter with a dead flier inside the cockpit. He had Lieutenant bars on his uniform, but his face was unrecognizable.

In the early morning hours of late December 1943, a Navy fighter plane was enroute to Pensacola from Louisville when they struck the mountain at the exact spot we heard the footsteps.

I just could not believe it...See attached map of where it happened. The red arrow was the impact spot. See also a newspaper clipping about the event.

There was a USMC Lt. Colonel killed a few hundred yards from this spot in the 1960's. The newspaper clipping is also attached for that accident as well.

I'll post the other story in a little bit.

Yeah they were both fine for the most part, definitely fine enough to have regular lives after that.  The first guy went the warrant officer route a year or two after being medically cleared and the second guy stayed in for another 8 years and retired a few years ago.

It was weird to see corpses reanimate lol but it wasn’t very scary. Just surprising. Not something I’ve seen more than that one time, not to such an extreme anyway, but it’s pretty normal when you have a collection point like that to see bodies do weird stuff. Noises, weird singing that sounds like some yokel playing jugs underwear, arms and legs doing the electric boogie or lunging straight up in the air only to collapse at their side again. Not sure if it was a perfect combination of what they had injected and how long it was working it’s way through their system before we slid down their chimneys like disappointing Santa.

I want to believe in paranormal shit but again, the weirdest stuff has always had a pretty logical explanation. There was a weird little guy that no shit lived on a chain at the edge of the village his family was part of/prominent in. He looked like the mutant guy from 300, you know the hunchback dude? His family would let him off the chain and he’d scamper around the town eating chickens and shitting on stuff and howling, so his body was the least deformed part of whatever mess he had going on. They’d only let him loose a few times a month, maybe twice a week, then he’d tire himself out and come back and pass out jerking off in the little igloo looking mound he lived in. They’d come out and padlock his chain to his neck and life went on.

Obviously he wasn’t the weird cheetah creature lol but in a world where that sort of stuff is unremarkable, who knows what sort of species of wolf or escaped pet or something might be roaming the fertile valleys. Some of those warlords and opium growers were absurdly rich, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if one of them had some exotic pet that he let go or that escaped. A feral chimp out there would be pretty much top of the food chain unless we shot it.

The story of your wounded buds tells me you were with some hombres. Glad they survived.

The animated corpses reminded me of the book Marine Sniper (Gunny Hathcock). Some old farmer had been pressured by the VC to take pot shots at their firebase in the evenings. VC would leave a few rounds for the shitty old rifle at his place and he'd go out at dusk and send them, like clockwork. Hathcock snuck out one evening to put a stop to it.  He got the skinny old dude with a clean head shot and he said the old man went off like a pogo stick, bouncing about. Frog legs in the fry pan thing, I guess.

The critter you guys saw in the compound...big male chimp came to mind as you described it. They stand with splayed out knees.  They are brutally strong and can literally rip your face off. Your guess to rich warlord money would be plausible. Rabid, maybe? Trained to do nasties for intimidation of competitors?

One day when I was a little kid I took a walk to the back side of our property. Close to a mile from the house and thick brush on either side of the two track dirt road. It was the middle of the day and I was a little tired so I layed down on my stomach in the soft sand of the road and played around in the dirt with a stick.

Not sure how long I was there for but eventually I got that creepy "you're being watched" feeling. I didn't know what it was but something was telling me that was not a good place to be in and I'd better get moving.

I got up and hadn't walked 50 yards when a coyote ran across the road seventy yards or so in front of me. I remember thinking oh so that's what it was. Still made me uneasy since I was unarmed.

This would have been in 1979 or 1980.  I am driving form Austin, TX to Fort Sill.  For some reason I have taken a route through the Texas hill country.  It is twilight.  I'm on a 2-lane road, on a climbing turn, when I come around the turn to see two cattle trucks thundering at me at well over 100 MPH on the downhill run - occupying both lanes.

In a split second, before I could even think, I yanked the wheel of my 72 Chevy C10 long-bed pickup to the left, opting to run off of road and over the edge rather than head-on one or both of the cattle trucks.  Time seemed to slow down as the headlights of the semis drew nearer, their engines roaring.  I felt the nose of the truck rise slightly as I went off the edge, and it began to level out as I started to drop toward the pine trees hundreds of feet below.

Then I am back on the road, in my lane, still doing 55MPH as the semis continue to thunder down the hill.

My brain tells me that the vacuum behind the trucks sucked me back on to the road just as I started to fall.

My soul tells me the hand of God lifted my truck back onto the road.  Must not have been my time to go.

The rest of the trip I would get up to 60-56MPH, and then look down and I am doing 35MPH.  Over and over.  Finally had to just stop, get a cup of coffee and some ice water, and stop shaking before I could drive on in.

Second story - I am driving back from Altus Oklahoma to Lawton, ok, after visiting with my father who had driven in from Amarillo to attend a dealer-only car auction.  On the way back I am just worrying and stewing about everything - bills, money, all the usual things.

All of a sudden, the voice of God spoke in my mind, saying, "You see those hills over there on the left?  I spoke those hills into existence.  When the time comes, I'll speak them OUT of existence.  If I tell them to, they will get up and walk from the left side of the road to the right side of the road.  Stop worrying so much.  Just take care of the things you can take care of, and leave the rest to me - let me be God for a while.  It will all work out according to my plan."

It was what I needed to hear, and it has continued to help me.

This happened to me back in the mid 70's. I had recently given my life to Christ and was constantly being tempted as a new believer. Some times I gave in but most times I was able to resist satan's testing. I suppose that's common with new Christians.

I had been visiting my grandmother and just felt very tired for no apparent reason. She told me to just go in the spare bedroom and take a nap. Probably the first time in my life I took a nap in the middle of the day. At some point in my sleep I started feeling like I couldn't breathe. There was pressure around my neck and I felt this force trying to choke me as I struggled to get some air I felt the force get stronger to the point that I felt as though my throat was being crushed. Somehow in my panic to breathe my mind became aware that this was a spiritual battle for my life. I knew I had to call on Jesus to rescue me or I would die. Over and over I called for him in my mind but I was still being strangled. That's when I knew I needed to say it out loud or I was going to die right there. I took every ounce of what was left of air in my body but I managed to call on him audibly.

Immediately the pressure was gone. I was still sleeping at this point but I knew I needed to awake.  I sat on the edge of the bed trying to breathe normally again once I felt able to get up I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. I had red marks all around my neck as it was all very real. I went to the kitchen to apologize to my grandmother for making all the noise from that ordeal. She looked at me like I was crazy and said she didn't hear anything. To this day I'm convinced satan tried to kill me that day.

My ex wife's father died. A few months later the ex's toddler grandson was spending the night with us. He was just talking good.  He was very close with his papaw.
We got him to bed and we're in the den watching TV.  The dog was laying on the back of the couch asleep.

Suddenly the dog jumped up and started wagging its tail and laid her ears back like she saw someone she knew.  Then she laid right back down. I thought that was odd.

The next morning the grandson got up and said his papaw came and seen him last night.

Maybe he did.

I was on a Sam Houston National forest hiking trail heading back to my car after sunset.  Just as it was getting dark, I dropped my pack and put on my head lamp so I could see where I was going.  I also sat down for a bit and rehydrated.

As I was putting my pack back on I heard a distinct snapping of a twig close by as in someone or something stepped on a twig with a pronounced crack close behind me.  I slowly turned around with my head lamp on and saw absolutely nothing.  But the hair was standing up on the back on my neck.  I pretended to be nonchalant about it and kept going on the trail back to the car.  As best as I can tell I was not followed.  But to this day I wonder who or what snapped that twig close behind me.

I had one that I couldn't explain for about twenty years. Now I can, unfortunately.

I grew up in Pennsylvania. I spent much of my youth like most others in a semi-rural area, riding my bike, hunting, fishing, getting into trouble. I didn't hang out with my brother much and he doesn't hunt or fish so I often rode around the area by myself. It was mostly farmland and fields, some woodlands. Old churches and the like. Eastern Pennsylvania is currently limestone country but was once big on agricultural milling and lots of the trout streams are dotted with ruined mills. Many of them provided good cover for trout.

I lived in Allen Township, near the confluence of the Indian Creek and the Hokendauqua Creek. Both were good trout spots. The roads around there are laid out like farm roads, so I had plenty of options to ride around without wandering too far from home. Kreidersville Road had a pretty good hill to ride down, and like any kid all I wanted to do was go really fast. Whenever I rode, I would try to get up to the top so I could fly down the hill. One of the ways to get there, depending on how I went, was to turn on Covered Bridge Road. There was only one house there, which had some outbuildings for a fencing business. It was a perfectly ordinary lot with a nicer house (nicer than most around it) with relatively well-kept land. However, I felt VERY uneasy every time I rode by. I had no idea why, and looking at it you would never know. I rarely saw anybody there, even with all of the work vehicles around. I don't (well, didn't) know why since it wasn't an ominous-looking house by any stretch. No gnarled branches, tangled vines, unnatural shade, nothing of the sort.

I generally avoided that short stretch of Covered Bridge Road, largely because I could never shake that feeling by that house. I would occasionally wander up there to get closer to the top of the hill, and every time the feeling returned. One day, probably in 1995 or so, I saw a guy just standing in the middle of the driveway. He seemed to be staring at something, though I have no idea what (there wasn't anything there). Since it was going uphill, I wasn't riding very fast. When I passed him, he looked at me and it was incredibly unsettling. His eyes were just...empty. I can't really describe it any other way that he just seemed empty and soulless. Like a demon had taken up residence inside the shell of a human but had no idea how to act. After that day, I never rode past there again. I never even drove past that I can recall. I never wanted to.

In 2014, that man, Gregory Graf, shot his stepdaughter in the back of the head, filmed himself raping her corpse, and buried her corpse in a shallow grave behind a shed. I know now that what I felt was evil.

Two events:
The first, about 25 years ago backpacking up Mt. Mitchell in NC with my girlfriend. We set up camp about 2/3rds the way up the 1st night. There were thunderstorms rumbling down in the valley, but up on the mountain it was peaceful and calm. We were lying in the tent well after dark when a light passed over the top, like someone had shown a flashlight over it. I sat up and unzipped the rear window and we looked out to see these golfball sized orbs of greenish light drifting up the mountain all around us. Air currents were moving them around trees, bushes and our tent, however, it looked like they were moving on their own accord. Within a minute or two they had dissapeared up the mountain. Never seen anything like that before or since.

Event 2:
This one was even stranger. I was at my old family property in central WV about 12 years ago, deep in the mountains with no other neighbors around for at least a mile. I walked up the steep 1/8 mile long driveway to close and lock the gate, late in the evening. While I'm at the gate suddenly the darkness is swept away like the sun had suddenly appeared at its zenith. I look up and there is a pinpoint of brilliant white that the light is emanating from. There is no sound, it is not moving, it seems to just be hanging motionless and noiseless in the sky. After a few minutes it just winks out and I am totally engulfed in darkness again.
I assumed it was a fireball that was on a straight down trajectory and got on a site that collects fireball sightings and reported it as such, however, there were no other reports of a fireball that night according to the site.

I've never felt comfortable with the fireball theory,  but is the only rational idea I could muster.

The first event sounds like ball lightning.  As for the second, most fireballs go unreported.  Likely a meteorite that burned up in the atmosphere overhead.  That happened to me once.

Similar to one of OP's stories... I've told these two before but it's been a while. Out taking care of the chickens for the night like I'd done hundreds of times before, cleaning out the water supply, giving them some feed, etc... nothing out of the ordinary. Nearing twilight but still light. I was in my late teens but still uncomfortable in the woods at night without multiple flashlights, but it wasn't near dark yet. Exact same feeling that OP described hit me like a ton of bricks and I ran all the way back to the house, too terrified to even look behind me. It's unsettling even thinking about it now because I remember how scared I was. It was knowing that I had to leave RFN or I was dead, because something was out to get me and it was CLOSE.

I think it has to be either some kind of misfire in your head, or a sixth sense, some kind of primal instinct telling you there really is something dangerous there triggering a flight response. Due to other experiences in my life I tend to believe the latter is more likely. Maybe a rogue mountain lion or something was eyeballing me from the woods, or one of the wackos we'd occasionally hear about was out for blood. I had never felt that feeling before or since, at least not that strongly.

The second wasn't as scary, but it was creepy. We dug a pond out in the front pasture, and occasionally I'd get in the canoe and float around. When we dug the pond, for some reason there was a bush/small tree that we left alone on a pile of dirt in the middle of the water... I have no idea why. But it always made me uneasy for some reason. I'd avoid it, and when paddling around I wouldn't turn my back on it. Didn't look any different from any of the other bushes and trees around, but it creeped me the hell out.

So one day a friend was over (we lived in the sticks so we rarely had company), and we went out to paddle around the pond. Partway through, we were just floating out in the middle of the pond with me sitting in the rear and him laying in the front, probably 10 feet or so from the bush. He had his back to it. Out of curiosity I said "Hey, is there anything weird about that bush?" He sat up, looked at it and said "Yeah, it feels like it's looking at me "

Me: ??

Him: ??

We got out

I generally don't go for the paranormal stuff, but there was definitely something way off there. My dad was a pastor/missionary/evangelist supposedly in tune with the spiritual world, so I'm wondering if somehow he was directed around the plant as he was digging the pond with the tractor I think there's a perfectly normal explanation for all of this, mainly subconscious, but I'm not sure.

Just weird.

That's fucking horrifying...  Wonder what the back story is on that guy, or what would drive a dude to just one day up and snap like that.

There's a house up where I hunt that's been rundown for years.  I always figured it was abandoned as the grass was never cut, there was no driveyway, and never a vehicle there.  I didn't hunt that area much but one summer I walked past it and saw about 6 turkey vultures standing around and on the house.  Didn't really creep me out but later that fall I learned that the house had been occupied.  A neighbor up the road called in a wellness check a few weeks after I walked by and they found the old man dead in his recliner.  Like a month and a half dead.

I guess the guy didn't drive but would occasionally walk to some neighbors houses to find a ride to town.  Since he had more than a couple people that would take him none of them thought it odd that he hadn't shown up for weeks.

OK, second and last story of anything odd that happened to me in Tennessee.

Around 1990 or so, my now wife and I visited an area near me called "Black Mountain" which was owned by the Methodist Church, but also had an FAA radar site at the top. I think it's a state park now. My sister had been told by her friends that there were odd occurrences up there at a particular old abandoned house...So, I was familiar with the area and went to the old house just off the road going up to the mountain. The house was probably built turn-of-the-century, had no windows, etc. Inside the house was a large rock slab and a wire noose from the rafters..On the rock slab was obvious blood. Outside, we found various small animal carcasses. I still have some pictures somewhere, because I took my camera with me.

Fast forward to a few weeks later and my sister called the local newspaper editor, (who still works at the same newspaper I believe), and inquired about what he knew about Black Mountain. He stated that there were rumors and he had gotten anecdotal reports that large bonfires were reported there on certain days of the year and what he stated to her was "folk music singing at odd hours of the night". The local legend was that certain times of the year, satanists would gather there because of the name of the mountain.

One more twist to this story...I worked for DOT in maintenance in the mid-1990's and a guy I worked with moved to bridge inspection. He told me that right down from Black Mountain on US Hwy 70 was a bridge that they had inspected over Renfroe creek. He said it was odd because the current bridge was built over a much older bridge deck with a space underneath between the two bridges. When they were doing their inspection, he found evidence of some sort of ritual with candles, pentagrams and such.

Here is the bridge I am referring to:

A random really hot chick had sex with me one night, I swear it was like banging a pornstar. I can't explain it, I'll never know why that happened

Two instances, both involving doors slamming when there was nobody near them.

First was a cabinet door at my parents' house when I was a kid.

Second time was the bedroom door to my GF's apartment when I was in college.

I grew up with a friend whose uncle had a nearby small family farm. His aunt and uncle seemed elderly when I knew them but were wonderfully welcoming.  I actually learned to shoot out there along with camping out occasionally. There was something about the upstairs of the house. It was an old two story country home, well kept, my friend's aunt and uncle were great people. The upstairs gave me the willies, don't know why, it was just as well kept as the rest of the house, but I was always ready to get out of there. I was about 12 or so at the time. BTW The feelings lessened as the years went by, but I was always a bit uneasy. I suspect it was haunted by someone and it was just their presence that I was feeling, My friend was accepting of me feeling as I did but could offer no explanation, there were no manifestations that I saw or heard but the feeling of uneasiness was very strong and may have been, if you believe, simply the force of the personality there. He did say that he had an aunt who passed in the front upstairs bedroom and that she was very straight laced. I'm guessing an Aunt Polly like character.
