Nothing to alarm someone and freak them about but enough for them to know we have storms coming that might be bad. Lots of people just aren't tuned into what's happening around them and just don't have exposure to be dialed in about events like this. |

| The wind just picked up and gusted real hard for the first time tonight. I got a call from my son one minute later that he, his wife, and his cat are coming over. The granddaughter is already here. I am now observing the weather and the cat standoff in the living room. |

Yeah they have been non-stop the past few hours. Doesn't help that people on the Reddit for the town by me are telling people our topography doesn't support tornados and you have to go an hour north or south  Yeah that's why two people died a few miles from us and numerous houses were wiped down to the foundation a couple of years ago. Another one I filmed from our porch and ended up on the news. |

Unfortunately, it takes a near miss for some to get tuned in sometimes. We had a tornado pass by in 2022 and the major damage path was only 300 yards from our property. Houses stripped of materials, metal wrapped around trees, trees snapped changing the landscape for years from what you remember it by. Was a June evening storm that I was keeping an eye on for about an hour starting at about 5PM. Local news was the usual "beware, and take cover". Yeah, that is what they always say.....Watched the cell approach on radar and as it got closer I went outside. No rain, not much wind, just tried to look over the tree line at the creek to see what was approaching. Nothing abnormal to most folks when a storm is approaching. I never looked at convective outlooks or any other SPC forecasts at the time. Within minutes I heard what seemed like a roaring sound, just like a locomotive speeding down the tracks, but the wind in the tree line didn't seem to match the sound I was hearing. Finally, yelled to the family to get into the bathroom to take cover as I realized what I was hearing, kind of disbelief? Within seconds I seen debris flowing across the property (inflow jet to the tornado as found out) and ran to close the garage door and out the front door to look out the East side of the property to see what might have been a nearby tornado passing. Winds reached 70+ within seconds just in the inflow according to the weather station on my property. I ended up looking in the wrong direction to the actual path. Crazy to think if the path was a few hundred yards North everything could be different to this day...... Like many, You never think it will happen to you, until it does. That was when I started paying a lot more attention to SPC forecasts and being more heads up. |

Thankfully as usual as the line bows out the most significant tornado threat tends to shift down south but we still have a straight line wind threat which has knocked our power out the past two years in a row. I'll be here tomorrow to provide what info I can for our members down south. |

A lot of them will be shifting SW right now to cover tomorrow which means hours of driving and maybe a few hours of sleep tonight. The actual storm chasers that are providing real time updates and helping people out are great assets to the country. The ones that load people into a van and take their money are borderline thieves. |
| Nothing too bad in South Huntsville but there was a knarly line I was tracking early this morning that was going northeast pointed toward Arab->Guntersville that looked like it had some rotation or at least some bad straight line winds. Haven't seen anything yet if there was an actual touchdown or not though. |
