I'll put my answers down later. I just woke up. I know it's lame, but I keep a dream journal so I don't forget them. So what are yours? I dreamed a work colleague had been killed in a car crash. Very vivid to the point it woke me up. Three days later at work found out it had happened for real to the same work colleague on the same night I had the dream. Freaky coincidence. Never had anything like it before or since when people I know have passed. |

My dad came to see me after he died. He stood in my living room and smiled at me - then he was gone. It was the most intense dream of my life, I tear up just thinking about it. I was having a hard time after he was killed. Was it real, or just my mind trying to heal itself? |

I used to have a very vivid dream that I was in Amberg out processing and for some reason I couldn't leave. I was eternally stuck there. I had this dream all the time and would wake up scared to death. Returned to Germany to visit the Regiment and went to Amberg. I've never had the dream again. That place haunts me. A day never passes that I don't think of it. Mike |

My mom had cancer and was dying. on the day she died I had a dream that I was walking with her through a dark, huge grave yard in the rain, looking at the stones and they had no names on them. the stones were the old fashioned thin hand cut slabs that are set into the ground and all the names had been erroded away. I was awakened from this dream by the phone ringing, I picked it up and was told my my mother had just died.

Although not disturbing, my most common RECURRING dream involves being at conventions and what not in Las Vegas.
I have visited Vegas often for various conventions and seminars during my career, so I do have kind of a "relationship" of sorts with the city, but it still seems odd that I dream of it so often. Usually at least once a month, sometimes two or three times. I wake up and say, "Oh yeah, Vegas dream again." No biggie. |
| Dreamt my boss and I were looking out the first story window. Then we were on the roof looking down and he fell. I grabbed but couldn't catch him. I awoke and thought, "Is he going to die?" After a while, I knew it wasn't about him dying but that he wasn't going to be around. One week later I had a new boss. |

I have extremely vivid dreams... sights, smells, Dolby Surround Sound, Imax 3D, etc.
There's the one where I explored another planet and caused the death of its entire population... There's the one where I entered the desert of black and white checkerboard tiles to marry a king's mind-reading daughter, accompanied by a talking, whining baboon and a kitten with a detachable pop-socket head... Then there's the one where my family and I opted to accompany some aliens back to their home planet and ended up choosing to stay there for the rest of our lives. But the one where I died and went to hell (it was a pretty bizarre place) is the one that arfcommers would find most interesting. There's no way to summarize it into something that's not tl;dr. |

I remember having a dream that I met myself at a fire in the woods, and the other me was old, in his late 80s and he was setting at a fire that I had seen while while following an old wagon trail and I came to the light and my old self asked me to take a seat. he told me I'd have 3 kids and die at 87 just like my grand dad.
Another time I had a dream that I stopped in a local town to get gas while driving and their were all of these strange vehicles like a cross between 40s style automobiles and 40s-50s tractors with the big narrow back v tred tires in the front and the front small tires in the back. And I knew these machines had only one purpose. they were death machines. I got the gas and pulled out and as I was driving up the main drag something come up behind me fast with super bright lights and just as the lights became blinding I woke up. I could still tell you every detail of the backward tractor cars. I have alot of dreams of being birds and fish too. Those are weird. |

I keep having this recurring dream that pops up every couple of years: I'm being chased by a giant carrot through the Grand Canyon. The carrot almost catches me and...I wake up... Have no idea what it means, but not sure why the dream keeps coming back. Have you had any other dreams in which you are attacked by fresh produce?

This reoccurring dream only started when I moved here to my farm- - Construction/highway crew doing backhoe or dozer work start digging up dead female bodies that I've murdered and buried here on the farm (no, I've never killed anyone) I felt guilt only because I was caught Actually takes a minute or two of being awake to realize it's just a nightmare I think it's related to the enormous and unfinished work that needs to be done I haven't had a similar dream like that since I've finally remodeled my barn that was literally falling down But I still need dozer work to control some severe erosion problems I have Or it could be because there are actually dead females killed and buried here by the creepy old guy that I bought the farm from They're calling out from the grave After taking Gross Anatomy, I had the same recurring dream of trying to hide dead bodies. I remember one where I was driving by a crime scene and thought, "Oh, shit! I didn't do a very good job." The other recurring dreams are boring and fairly common for people who have had a lot of schooling: I've managed to go most of the semester without opening a book and I have to read 3 or 4 books and study for a final exam within a few days or less. This dream happened early in high school, and really affected me. Don't recall many details since it was nearly 15 years ago.
I dreamed I was at a mall (weird, I'm from small-town America and the nearest "mall" was two counties away) somewhere and met some girl. I sat down and we talked for a long time, she was pretty cool but seemed really sad. Somehow we ended up dating and I finally found out she was dying of cancer and had a couple years left at most. That was about all I remember of the dream itself, but when I woke up it felt like a year had passed, and the dream put me into depression for a week or so. It really put me in a weird funk which is weird because I have a lot of nightmares, often about me trying to escape from an enraged and murderous father, but once I wake up and realize they're only dreams they don't bother me at all. There's also a house I constantly dream about, have been for years now. It's not a house I've ever been to, and I can never recall it well enough when awake to draw it out, but it seems to be a mansion with 4 or 5 floors. Sometimes dreams only have a subset of it, but other dreams have shown me it's a truly huge house. I wish I knew enough detail to lay it out in Minecraft. The hard part of dream recall is that my dreams are not very vivid. There's often a lot of detail but it's usually sound, movement, thoughts and ideas, rarely any strong visual component. Almost like reading a novel and having to depend on imagination, or being mostly blind. |

When I was a teenager I was sleeping in the back seat of a truck when the underage, drunk driver veered off the road and wrapped it around a tree.
I got to stare into my girlfriend's mangled face when I woke up, hanging from the ceiling. I don't remember how her face looked like when she was alive, and she haunts me in my nightmares... that and the dead look on my friend's face when they put him away for 15 years. |

Anyone have a dream within a dream like in the movie Inception? I've had it happen twice. One I don't remember either dream. The second time, I'm in a house and a group of men have broken into it looking for me. I then wake up in a car just before sunrise. I then wake up a second time. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

| I do not remember the exact age, maybe 5 or 6, but I woke up and saw a purple gorilla looking in my window. I apparently flipped out and ran into my parents room and to wake them up. The next day my father had me recount the events while he did an audio recording of it, still have it someone. For sometime thereafter I had to look out the window, inside the closets and under the bed before I went to sleep. It was before "The Great Grape Ape Show" and its 40 foot gorilla but the cause of it might have been Magilla Gorilla. |

When I was 16 I had an extremely vivid dream of
the grim reaper escorting (pulling me by the hand) across a raining foggy railroad bridge. I woke up before I made it across. The really messed up things were this awful smell which I smelled it for real when I was 18 in the first Gulf War. The smell of burned bodies and carnage. The other thing was his fingers and the texture of the bones. They reminded me of a worn whittled piece of cold wood. Once a year or so I'll have the same dream. |

This actually happened Saturday night/Sunday morning. There were two things that were interesting/unusual about it one more so than the other.
Also to give a little background I have lucid dreams at least once a week but this wasn't a lucid dream. I was dreaming that I was in a high rise hotel, part of the dream I was walking around taking elevators whatever. Then I sat down in a movie theater and watched a significant portion of a movie it was like dumb and dumber 4 or something. It was strange almost a dream inside of a dream but it was a movie inside of a dream but I experienced the movie almost as if I was in it and then at a certain point I decided to stop watching the movie and I was back in the theater chair getting up to leave. So that was a bit unusual but here is the really really weird part. I was almost tempted to post a thread about this. Believe me don't believe me the choice is yours but it's true. So Sunday morning when I wokeup I had an image burned into my eyes(afterimage)...what I mean is when I looked at the off white wall in my room I could see an image. Incidentally when I say image burned in it was like if you do one of those black and white optical illusions where you stare at the screen then look someplace else and you can still see the image. It was a 4 line mathematical (calc based) equation. When I first wokeup it was surprisingly clear, so clear in fact that I decided I would try to write it down. I quickly looked around but the only thing I saw was my iphone and then I immediately realized that I couldn't possibly input it into an iphone. I am sure it was just nonsense but it was so strange that I had a mathematical formula afterimage in my eyes. The only thing I really remember was that there was a W variable or constant as a numerator in a parenthesis over some kind of denominator toward the beginning of the first line. Within 30-45 seconds(maybe a minute tops) my eyes went back to normal and I could no longer see the formula. |

Had weird one a couple years ago that's stuck with me. I'm walking down a deserted street in NYC and go into a very modern high rise apartment building. I go up the stairs to the 9th floor and open an apartment door marked "9" and walk into a windowless apartment. God (as played by Morgan Freeman), Jesus, Lucifer, Buddah, and Allahah are all sitting around a table playing poker and drinking beers (Lucifer also has a cigar). They were having a good time, laughing, and seemed to be enjoying themselves at their game, so I asked how they could be so friendly to each other and not fighting. God just turned to me and said, "Its not time. We have ten thousand years until the fight. We may as well enjoy each other's company until then." |

I just remembered one more.
I had a dream I was with some friends driving along a lake. Everyone starts to panic pointing towards the lake, I look over and their is a huge tornado crossing the water it is sucking up water and their are cars and house boats a mile in the air swirling around and all I could hear was the droning on and off roar of the thing and the car swerved into the ditch and I woke up. I looked over and my dog was lying by my head snoring. his snout was about 2 inches from my ear. The dogs snores inspired the dream I guess. |

Yesterday I had a dream where I traveled to South America for a shooting trip (I dunno). We were out in the middle of the jungle in a jeep near to the river. Then we were ambushed by natives armed with spears and bows. I grabbed an FDE Glock that only had 10 rounds for some reason from the seat back and dove out of the car. Then I jumped off of a waterfall.
I suspect the book I'm reading about Theodore Roosevelt's trip through the Amazon played a part in this.

It plays out like the last stand of the two Delta guys in Black Hawk Down.
Except it's just me, no backup. And I'm trying to get my wife and a little girl to safety. It was so vivid. Trigger broke cleanly, everything cycled properly. Natives were dropping like flies. Bolt lock, change mag, keep going. Break contact drill. They keep coming. Sidearm transition. They keep coming. Getting worried as the mags run out. Start swinging that M1A like a club. They keep coming. Draw my knife. I wake up in a cold sweat, my wife looking at me all worried. The thing that stuck with me all this time was that little girl. At the time, my wife and I were just engaged, there were no kids. Now I have two... Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
| I have several dreams and always about real things I've seen or been part of. Very vivid with smells and sound. I wake up wiping blood & flesh off myself that dripped from the ceiling in the most frequent. Looking into a man's eyes as he struggles to breath and watching them go lifeless then staring through me. A couple times a month I wake up covered in sweat hollering "GUN" after watching it in slow motion. The front sight on my pistol the hammer coming back. I'm considering a dream dog to wake me up when it starts. As of now I sleep about 4 hrs a day and mostly during daylight sitting up in a chair. |

Worst, most vivid dream ever a couple years ago. I lost my 20 YO daughter. Don't recall the details how. Just the gut wrenching, heart breaking horror of the realization I would never again be able to talk to her or hug her or look in her eyes or see her smile.
I fought sleep for fear I would have it again. I can't imagine the real, permanent pain a parent has when they lose a child. |

I had a very very similar dream about my grandmother after she passed. She was in front of her old house and we had the same quick type of conversation and then she had to go. She walked to her front door and started to go inside and just before closing the door said "I'll see you again" and smiled. Then I woke up.

About six months after my mom passed away last year I had a dream. I was walking in a busy corridor with people moving in both directions. Against the walls on both sides people stood against them to be out of the way of foot traffic. I looked up and saw my mom, not really younger but well dressed and healthy looking. "Mom!" I exclaimed She walked up to me and said " I can't stay long but I wanted to thank you for all you did for me" As she said this she handed me a clear marble wrapped like a butter scotch candy I looked down at it and when I glanced back up and she was heading around the corner to be lost in the crowd. Before she hit the corner I shouted out " what's it like ?" - meaning heaven, death, afterlife etc She hestitated and with a look I remember as deciding to how to phrase it nicely - said "it's ok" And then she was gone. I woke up crying. I have never had a dream as real as that and prior to that dream I would have scoffed internally had someone related the same dream. I really believe it was my mom - on her death bed while she was lucid I asked her to give me a sign if possible that she was ok I believe that dream was her letting me know she was ok and to thank me again for taking her in when her health and finances required her to move in my home |

Neat. I've never heard of anyone else describe the same thing. Usually in the dreams as I stand there I'm just watching all this going on above my head with that "ooooh shit" feeling and a lead ball in my stomach. I just stand there and watch wave after wave go overhead. Sometimes the dreams involve air combat or explosions overhead and sometimes just wave after wave of planes as if they are going out on a huge air raid.
I often wonder if that's from being a child of the 70's and 80's and all the cold war stuff and movies like "The Day After". Another one I occasionally have I blame Arfcom for. I need desperately to get guns and ammo together to defend myself/home or to go off to war and I can't find ANYTHING. I have piles and piles of guns/ammo/gear/optics etc. but none of it works together.... I am desperately trying to get myself ready and getting further and further behind. Sometimes there are others in the dream pressuring me to hurry and in others I'm alone. Quoted:

I am in what appears to be a very large church. Gunmen have chased us into the congregation hall and are forcing us to lie down with our heads partially under the pew in front of us. There are literally too many gunmen to count. They begin shooting us and it hurts so bad I want to scream, but I don't want to bring any attention to myself. The guy next to me is large and has fallen partially onto me. I play dead. I'm shot in my flank area. I don't know how many times or where exactly. I eventually lose consciousness. I awaken to the sounds of gunfire and children screaming. They're in the nursery/sunday school now. I need to make it to my kids and I am in such pain each movement hurts. I am unarmed. I keep feeling for my carry piece but it isn't there. I know I have a gun in my truck. Do I go for that or do I go for my children? What good will my revolver be against all those gunmen. It has five bullets. Only five. No more. I always wake up in the foyer area of the church trying to decide if I go to my kids or out to the parking lot for my gun. I never get past that point in the dream. I have noticed that this dream happens before a large mass casualty situation makes headlines. It really does. My wife swears it's a premonition. I'll have it and a plane will crash or disappear or some nut will kill his family and himself or shoot up his workplace. I had the dream last night/today. I won't be surprised to hear about something tragic happening soon. :/ I can't even pretend to be shocked. At least 23 people are dead. Every time I have this dream there's a mass casualty situation in the news within days. |

It's night time, and I am in a rural house/cabin. I look up from the floor, and out a window, to see Bigfoot staring in at me. I try to scream, but can't make noise or even move. I am paralyzed with fear. I have had this exact same dream at least five times in my life. I'm 41, and it's been about 10 years since last time, but it is as vivid as if it were just last night. |

The most vivid dream I have is I am back in Afghanistan doing a cordon and search in a shitty no name villiage that is an amalgamation of every little villiage I have been in. The first door we go to, I kick it in and I see a little girl with an AK, I hesitate and catch a full magazine of 7.62x39 to the chest. I think this is it, I'm dead and I am flat on my back. The "medic" which is weird, because I am the medic, comes up to me and says I need to quit being a pussy and walk it off. I look down and remember I have my IOTV on and hop back up and continue on mission.
Soon after, I start feeling pretty bad and start having real trouble breathing, so I take a knee and call for the medic, and he starts getting mad calling me a shammer and that I need to man up and continue on with mission, at this point I had enough and I start really struggling to breath and this is the point I pass out and wake up in bed out of breath and really have to focus on getting air for real. It scared the shit out of my wife, because she said I would start thrashing around and not breathing. I thought it was stress from me having to re-join the civilian world after a pretty stressful deployment. Not too long after I had a sleep study done and was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea.
