I was out hunting 1 day, and my dog found a dead coon.

I rolled it over, and about a 2" x 3" section of it's chest had been cut out.

It's heart was missing.

Didn't see 'it', but on our 'neighborhood forum' (Nextdoor).  Some guy is complaining about drones that are shaped and look like birds.  With other people chiming in that they have seen the same thing.  I'm starting to wonder if russians are opening a portal nearby.

Sidenote, you can read some entertaining shit on Nextdoor.

I can't say I've seen many strange things, but the coolest things I've seen involve a lot of fire.

1) STS-130 launch at about 4:30am

2) An oil well fire on the way to Houston one night.

Friend took me deer hunting for the first time sophomore year in college.

Three of us come up out of the woods onto a dirt road and find an old man and what looks like a six or seven year old boy drinking water next to a lifted F-150 with a camper top. Kid has a rifle that's almost taller than he is. When I expressed some surprise at this, the old man hauls out a phone and starts showing me pictures of deer this kid has taken. Kid's a regular Daniel-fucking-Boone.

Kid says he has to piss. Old man warns us to "stand back". We're all like WTF? Old man says the kid spatters all over the damn place. We're ten or fifteen feet away, easy, so it seems like a very weird warning.

Old man says, "Show 'em, boy". Kid turns around and pisses over the camper top. Cleared it by several feet. Like...this kid is pissing in an arch 15 feet high and probably 15 feet long. Can't remember my zip code, but 38 years later I can still picture that scene clear as a bell.

ETA: small box of pictures...mobile phones as we know them didn't exist in 1981.

When I was 16 or 17 a friend and I were walking back to my house one night around midnight. We lived in a small development in a rural area. The moon was fullish and the sky was clear. We were talking as we walked. We both looked up at the moon and stopped dumbfounded. Next to the moon appeared to be a second moon equal in size, shape and brightness. We looked at each other and asked each other wtf is that. When we looked back at the moon the second “moon” was gone. No drugs or alcohol involved. To this day I have no idea what we saw.

Was at one of the Super Bowl of rock concerts at soldiers field. Some stoned / drunk woman was dancing on top of a concession trailer on the field.

We watched a watermelon, thrown from somewhere in the stands, arc perfectly, and in slow motion, hit her in the head and send her into the crowd below. They simply surfed her off to the side and deposited her on the ground. One of the most surreal things I’ve seen at a concert....

Remembered a couple more...

* Was sitting in traffic waiting for the light to change.  Off to the side of the road was a sidewalk and some trees.  A squirrel runs down the tree and stops on the sidewalk like it was waiting for traffic to clear.  About 3 seconds later a large hawk swoops down and scoops up the squirrel for lunch.  A week later, same intersection, happens again, only this time it was a cat that the hawk got.  Apparently that area was the Hawks feeding ground, this being a city of about 150,000.

* Another hawk story.  Came home from work and noticed a bunch of hawk feathers all over the yard.  Didn't think much of it being in the country and all, but then noticed the remains of a large hawk on the roof of my garage.  Went to get it down and it was mauled pretty good.  One leg was missing, as was the head.  Disposed of the hawk and started mowing the yard.  Eventually found the missing leg on one end of the property, and the missing head on the other end of my property.  Not sure what happened, but my hunch is said hawk battled it out with an owl or something and lost.

* Last one.  Growing up we had a neighbor that said their house was haunted by a ghost that likes to play pranks.  Story goes, the prior owner was a jovial old farmer that lived alone, but was always playing pranks on people.  One day he died while feeding his hogs and they ate most of him before he was eventually discovered.  Eventually our neighbors moved in the house years after that occurred.

Over time, they would report odd things happening.  Books falling off shelves, pets getting spooked, etc.  I never believed them until they asked me to feed their pets one time while they were on vacation.  Being a kid, I took the job for some extra cash.

Day 1, I go in, and discover toilet paper unrolled from the bathroom.  It went around the base of the toilet, out to the kitchen, up on the counter and through the dish rack.  I'm like odd, but maybe the cats did it.

Day 2, I go back and lights in bathroom are flickering on and off.  I figure it's a short.  Flip switch a few times, lights go off.  Turn around and lights in a different room do same.  Ok then, I flip those off/on it stops.  I feed their cats and dog and leave.

Day 3, I'm back, this time books on the top shelf of a book case had been knocked off it.  It's a pretty tall book case, but I suppose the cats could have done it.

Stuff like that happened all week.  Neighbors get back after vacation and I mention that.  They said, yeah, that's their pranking ghost.  I said I didn't believe them.  They said it's true.  About that time one of their closet doors started shaking like there was someone in it banging on the door.  Then a book falls off the bookcase once more right in front of us.  All pets and occupants were visible at the time, and none had anything to do with it.  We look at each other, and they were like, "see...we told you so". Their place always gave me the creeps after that.

Eventually they moved away, and the new neighbors reported similar events after they moved in.  A few years later, that house caught fire and burnt down.  They rebuilt it after that, and never had anymore issues after that.  Many years later, I had the opportunity to buy the house when we were looking for a house of our own.  Knowing the history, we took a pass on it... didn't want to press our luck with that property.

* Oh and one more...was at an Arby's once, in line to use the men's room.  There was a local concert in the strip mall at the time playing next door with a lot of attendees on hand.  Apparently there were not enough port a potties on hand for the alcohol being served at the event, so overflow was using the Arby's bathrooms.  Anyhow, I'm in line for the men's room.  In walks this drunk woman.  Said she had to pee really bad.  She cuts in line of all the guys and sees all the stalls and urinals in use.  What's she do?  She climbs up on one of the sinks, drops her pants and does her thing.  Yup... alcohol makes people do funny stuff.

I was probably 10, so it scared me for a while even though everyone said it was a military base then, which is most likely true.

Me and a bunch of friends were riding our dads 4wheelers and wound up stopping to look at the sky in an opening, which was right over a military base. We saw 5 to 10 orange glowing lights moving strangely through the sky, then they all came together and hovered for a while before shooting straight up in the sky and disappearing.

I also looked at a house that was mostly normal, but one of the kids closets was painted black and had a bunch of fucked up shit written and drawn in chalk all over it. It was creepy enough for me to not consider buying it. We found out later that the kid killed himself in the room a couple weeks later, when his parents told him the house sold and they were moving. I heard he had mental problems and they were still trying to figure out his medication.

Good question!  One of the dogs had definitely seen something strange and pointed and the others simply honored the point of the first dog. They were creeped out because they had their hackles up.

Human heads?  ... although why would a human head be buried from the neck down?  Wouldn't that just be decapitated heads lying around then?  Unless it was some weird Halloween display... almost 3 months too early.

What I happened upon was a shooting range. The farmer who gave me permission to run my dogs had apparently buried mannequin heads into the ground for target practice. I don't have words to describe the terror I had before coming to this conclusion.

Probably the strangest thing I have ever seen was when I was out running my dogs. I usually ran my dogs on some property behind my house but the guy that owned the property was grazing his cattle on the property so I made arrangements to run my dogs a few miles away from where I lived. I had never ran my dogs there before. As usual I was running with my AR15. Coyotes were common and cougars weren't uncommon.

Anyway I had ran about 45 minutes when all of a sudden my dogs slammed on point. (I can't remember how many I was running but it was typical for me to have 10-12. I raised and trained hunting dogs at the time.) anyway when I first saw the dogs point I immediately scanned the area to determine what they were pointing at. I finally noticed something about 700-800 yards ahead of me. I raised my rifle to view what I was looking at and I saw heads buried from the neck down. I looked at my dogs and I can see they had their hackles up.

So I will stop my narrative to see if I have anyone guessing what I was seeing and if anyone can one up me.

I’ve seen a lot of strange things including 4 airplane accidents where everybody inexplicably walked away.    Three of those were perfectly good airplanes crashed because of lack of skill.

My favorite was when a co-worker landed right on top of another airplane and they mated together.    Her student logically assumed she did it on purpose.   .   We helped them both down, and life went on.   Just another day in the life of a CFI.

15 yo, camped out on the patio with two friends. Early in the evening, well before dark, I noticed two " stars "  near the zenith that were unfamiliar to me, they were about 3 widths of the full moon apart. We were awake at 0230 just shooting the $hit and the 'star ' on the right goes over to it's counterpart, circles it, and buzzes off to the WSW at high speed. The one that was circled moved slowly off to the NW. One of the other guys says,"Did you see that?" We all had seen it, no idea what it was. This was the mid 60s, AFAIK the space program was pretty limited. What ever they were, they stayed in the same place, in orbit, for at least 6 hours and then buzzed off.

When I was a kid I saw a c 130 cargo plane fly super low, like just over our neighbors house, and then disappear over the tree line. The only thing I could guess is that it thought it was going to have to land in one of our fields. I don’t know.

When I was 16 or 17 I was driving home late at night, like 2 or 3 in the morning. As I rounded a curve my headlights lit up three boys who were probably 13 ish, sitting in a circle in the ditch, wearing nothing but their underwear.  Just weird.

And when I was in my late 20s my father and I hiked a short section of the ozark trail together. Normal, warmish, late spring day. We crossed paths with a Muslim family coming the other way. The man was in full robes and a turban like a Muslim cleric preaches in, his young daughter was wearing jeans and a sweater, and his wife was in a full on burkea. When we passed by I just smiled and nodded like I usually do, and that dude gave me a look of pure hate & rage. We rounded a turn and my dad looked back at me like WTF?

Poor cows.  They're on the receiving end of all manner of abuse.  A neighbor who has dairy cows also had acquired a mule.  The mule treated the herd of cows as his private harem.

Every morning cutting one cow out from the rest, chasing/herding her into a corner of the fenced in pasture and then having his way with her.  Much mooing and braying to let everyone within earshot know what was going on.  After a few months our neighbor sold the mule and morning quiet returned.

I saw a meteor so big and so close...It was greenish and you could see the sparks and flame coming off of it, even though it was so bright like a welders spark.

When they can make artificial birds actually fly like birds fly...flapping their wings and soaring....I am so getting a Pterodactyl
(reptile-bird I don't care if it flies by flapping it's wings I'm getting one)

In Texas I watched a whitetail doe follow a bobcat toward me on a trail, about 15 feet behind. The cat didn't think much of it and acted nervous, constantly looking back and actually laying down on the trail at one point.

The doe maintained the same distance the whole time. Eventually the cat turned into the brush and disappeared. The doe turned and walked back up the trail. This was January so she didn't have a fawn.

Keep your enemies closer thing, I reckon.

I also watched a mink swimming across the river with three ducks following four feet behind.

Ball lightning from about 300 meters away.

Strangest fucking thing I've ever seen.

Me too, but not the strangest thing I've seen.

The ball lighting....1977, parking lot of a drug store in Talladega, AL. Bottom dropped out right after my mom went in. The ball formed on a phone line. The sound was a loud frying sound. It formed and grew in one spot, then moved down the line, dissipating as it moved.

The strangest thing was a "UFO". Family campout on our rural land east of Bandera, TX about 1972. Mom and siblings were in the camper, but me and Dad were cowboy camping. Clear, cool night, so it was nice. We were stargazing and saw a satellite's reflection making an arc overhead. We both were following it with our eyes when it abruptly stopped and reversed direction. We both called: "UFO!" at the same time. I really believed it was a UFO because I was a kid.

Later in life, when i understood more about what Einstein was saying about the limitations of the speed of light and just how truly isolated we are in our own galaxy, a warm fuzzy came over me realizing what really cool shit our Skunkworks folks were making.

When I was driving from Kuwait to Al Anbar, Iraq, my A-driver and I saw a weird blue light hovering off in the distance. We were stopped for at least an hour waiting for a suspected IED to be cleared, and we’ were out in the middle of fucking nowhere. This thing was just hovering up and down, no blinking or anything. Watched it for at least 20-30 minutes before we noticed that it had disappeared.

Not saying it was an alien or anything, but I have no clue what kind of aircraft would have a solid bright blue light that would just kind of move up and down like it was riding an invisible wave.

Any explanation would be welcome.

I never have cool stuff happen to me

I have 2 sort of weird things that do stand out.

I was driving home from Tennessee to Ohio. It was about 2am and I have my wife and 3 year old in the car. We were about 20 minutes from home on a stretch of empty highway. Cruising about 80mph. I was in the right lane when another car came up on me fast and got right behind my car. The car didn't move over to go around so I switched to the left lane so he could pass and his bright lights would stop blinding me.  The car accelerated past me. About the time the car was next to me I saw the outline of a deer run out into the highway. The car next to me slammed into it HARD.
The really weird thing is after the deer was hit, it FLEW across the road in my direction. I could see the deer and its face, like a slow motion video, streak across the front of my window. From right to left. It was VERY close. I can still see that deers face when I close my eyes.
I stopped and backed up to the car that hit the deer. It was another family driving home as well. The front of the car was wrecked and blood/fur all over. Front window wasted. Luckily everyone was okay and wearing seat belts.
If that car didn't ride my ass, it would be me that would have crunched that deer, at 80mph, and stranded on the side of the road. ---------------

When I was a teenager, we had a house with a small decorative pond next to our back deck. I had it stocked with some goldfish that surprisingly seems to survive our Ohio winters. The pond turns into an ice block every winter.  Come spring, I usually break up the ice to quicken the thaw for the fish and allow some oxygen into the water. One particular year I was breaking up the ice with a pole and saw something bright orange. It was a large goldfish (maybe 4 inches long) frozen inside a chunk of ice. I pulled it out and showed it to my dad. We laughed.
I wanted to get a good look at the fish to see  it better. So stuck the ice chunk in a container of warm water. I forgot about it for about an hour. When I looked into the container, the fucking fish was swimming around! I could not believe it.
This thing was in a solid piece of ice for months. Apparently this is a real thing with some fish. I put it back into the pond after aclimateing it back to the cold pond temp. No idea how long it lived after that.

Came home one night about midnight to a big doe walking in circles at an intersection.

It was a 4-way stop that wasn't busy in the daytime let alone at midnight.

All she did was circles probably 50' or 60' feet in the grass and on to the pavement over and over.

This lasted 15 minutes then off to the woods she went.

Found a devil worshiping site once in high school.

Pentagram on the ground and other stuff like animal bones laying around.

Animals cut in half almost perfect like with a sword maybe idk.

Hair burnt off dead animals but the skin wasn't burnt.

Has anyone ever really had the urge to post on one of these threads with an occurrence so incredibly unbelievable but you decided not to because you feared the people reading it would think you're lying? (As amazing as some of the stories were).
