Interesting. I learned some about Memphis googling stats. The only ones I clicked on cited it as the most dangerous metro in 2007 and 2020. 1.3million metro area, and also about demographic splits. I'll wait until the body cam footage shows up, and toxicology. But they definitely fired 5 dudes pretty quick. Hope not, but If this goes the way of the 2020 riots, prayers out to those people who own businesses downtown, and any of the good/innocent people who get affected with any resulting mayhem. |

Lol! I work in the aviation industry and was sent to Memphis for work. But the company changed plans and actually flew me out to Cincinnati last night. So, I won’t see Memphis again anytime soon. But I appreciate the thought! |

So how close is the pyramid to the likely sporty areas of town? Supposed to be staying there Mon and Tuesday night.... Maybe the roof balconies will give a good view of the action? What should my load out be? PCC, full-sized pistol and concealed for when I am out of the vehicle? Will not be leaving the place in any case... Will give an after action report next week....  |

The mother of the victim spoke last night at a skateboard park and begged for peaceful protest only. This woman has lost her son and said she expects the video to be “horrific”, but has the strength to beg people to not burn the city down. I feel for her. Some will call her stupid. |

Very close Danger close, the police station is closer than Beal St., do NOT walk around that area. Two or three streets to the east there used to be a little enclave of decent bars and restaurants. You'll be fine for the most part, but the real hood is within a mile or two , beyond that it's a mix of sporty and sane. Weird town, crack houses right next to beautiful upkept homes. Some blocks look sane, others look like war torn desolation., |

FWIW this is a copypasta from an email I got from my neighborhood association yesterday. Others have expressed concern that the teefas will piggyback on the Memphis incident. I live in Atlanta. Neighbors: our police contacts have given us the heads up that there may be more rioting in the metro area this weekend. The incident in Memphis involving a traffic stop, a civilian death and 5 policemen terminated has put many within the APD and Brookhaven on high alert. I don’t mean to frighten anyone; I just want us all to be more alert than usual. Our APD Liaison has let us know that there is a possibility of more riots this weekend and the city is preparing. There was a death in Memphis due to force by several officers and they are planning on releasing the body cam footage on Friday. Apparently it is UGLY and our contact said “think worse than Rodney King.” With everything already going on in Atlanta, the City (and us) are preparing for more possible riots/protests this coming weekend.
