You could make better use of low-end torque from the longer stroke 347 If I was spending someone elses money I think a 347 is how I would do it. Wouldn't have to change anything out and fitment wouldn't be a concern. Just need to have someone make sure the tranny would hold up

My son (the photog) will be bringing his video equipment next weekend, so I’m hoping for a slick production worthy of posting and gloating over  The car is coming along nicely  I’ve put about 40 miles on it, much of it testing/tuning. I’ve done an oil and filter change already of course; to get rid of break-in lubricants etc. The water pump sat for over a year, dry. The shaft seal is now weeping just a little, but enough to replace it. Project and/or race cars... the wrenching never ends. Which is part of the fun

The motor began loading up/laying over (at idle, while adjusting idle mixtures... wtf) followed by a loud mechanical CLANK. Oh shit, what the hell was that. Long story short, I use the starter to bump the motor over adjusting valves (solid lifters). The starter hung open and I blew it up. Oops NAPA had one locally, replaced the starter. Good to go

Metallics (like this color) would oxidize and fade very quickly. From what I’ve read (as it was long before my time): Ford got tired of doing warranty paint jobs for this color, so they discontinued it. It was only available in 1965 and 1966. I’ve seen very few others with this color, so it’s a bit unique. I like it
