So let's see. THIS COULD ALL CHANGE BUT.... At this point we have the following drivers involved: Tomorrow, Sunday @Spuddicus Start point--to Chattanooga--Spuddicus still needs to check in...Not absolutely certain he can do this tomorrow. This timing happened suddenly. Here is our missing leg...Chattanooga to Nasvhille @TechOPs--Nashville to his home in southern IL, to bunk for the eclipse, then TUESDAY TechOps drives north to meet Cordwood at their agreed-upon destination.  @CentralScrutinizer may or may not be involved, and hopefully can serve as backup if something goes sideways, even if we have to rearrange. That's where it stands right now, but THIS COULD CHANGE. |

Keep in mind that Monday is eclipse day and a big swath of Southern Illinois is in the path, and one of the few places in the country with a chance of seeing it through the cloud cover so sunday & monday will likely be very dicey on travel through that area, certainly monday. ETA Don't know where TechOps is, but if he's willing to host her and resume travel on Tuesday that's not a bad plan. The puppies are cute

OP IS A GO! Not sure exactly how it will shake out, but for once, we are not rolling at O-Dawn-Thirty! Right now we have as follows: Tomorrow (SUNDAY) mid-morning to early afternoon--I don't even know the time!  Spuddicus: First leg...he meets Jordan somewhere near Ball Ground and drives to Chattanooga SOMEBODY MEETS HIM IN CHATTANOOGA.  @Hamiltbl2 It might be YOU!  IF Hamiltbl2 lives closer to Chattanooga than Nashville, he could pick up Prentiss from Spuddicus, and meet mike_f half way to Nashville!@mike_f It might be YOU!  If it doesn't make sense for Hamiltbl2 to pick up Prentiss, then mike_f will drive all the way to Chattanooga to meet Spuddicus.Wherever mike_f picks up Prentiss, he will then drive to meet TechOps (where his kids are engaged in some kind of life and death competition) in Nashville late afternoon, and deliver Prentiss. @TechOps will take Prentiss home with him Sunday night, to Southern Illinois. MONDAY The TechOps family and guest, Prentiss, will watch the eclipse, while avoiding all eclipse traffic.  TUESDAY TechOps drives north to meet @Cordwood at their designated meet point, and Prentiss is HOME!!!! This is the most ramshackle op I've ever organized. I think, commanders of Special Forces and Navy SEALS probably feel like this when they send out their teams to accomplish some task. They would like to be in control and know all the details. But even if they think they know, basically they are saying, "y'all go out here and make this thing happen." Then the commander goes to dinner and drinks a lot.  Y'all who support SFDR, please say some prayers. There will be a lot of traffic tomorrow (it's the eclipse this weekend, and everybody is headed for the path of totality. That's right where Prentiss is headed, too. More tomorrow, but thank you to everyone who is helping, especially to those who have volunteered last-minute, without knowing exactly what's going to happen tomorrow.   @ImperfectlyPerfect3 @Cordwood |

Everyone stay tuned for photos of Prentiss on her journey to her new home with the Cordwood family! Drivers are about to depart and meet points are set! Prayers requested for our drivers, as this is a very busy travel weekend because of the eclipse. Lots of folks converging on Western KY and Southern Illinois right now. |

Spuddicus and family are headed back toward Atlanta, as Mike_f heads north toward Nashville with Prentiss! Extra prayers requested for all who can send. It's a hard day in bad traffic for all of our drivers. I didn't do a good job choosing the weekend. Had no idea it would be like this in Southeast Tennessee for pre-eclipse. |

| They have been sniffing and testing each other. The worst was when my wife bought them three bones at the store. Lucy and Ethel seemed to think all the bones were for them. We had to separate them and guard Prentiss, so she could have her bone in peace. Lucy and Ethel kept coming around to steal her bone. After awhile, they gave up though. Currently, she is curled up in bed with me, as I lay here listening to my ham radio. So, we are good for the night. Also, this afternoon we tried letting her out to play without a leash and she stayed with us and had a good time. She got much livelier this afternoon, so that was good to see. |
