Quoted: Champ has been doing great since we brought him home. He has been pretty shy, but is warming up & slowly coming out of his shell so to say. Eating & drinking good. He loves petting & brushing. Is very easy going & gets along with our 2 rescue dogs, our 16yr old Chihuahua & 2 cats. He is very intelligent, house broken & does great on a leash. Honestly one of the best dogs I've ever known. I'm sure he doesn't feel really good right now, since he just got dumped last week & has started his recovery from heartworms. But he is resting very well & not restless or pacing at all. He likes being inside as well where he is safe, warm & it's reasonably quite. He is underweight, weighted 62lbs & should be around 80ish for his size, but we are working on correcting that too. I'll say it again, he is a very good boy. Especially with what he's been through. @JGrelle We cannot thank you enough for going the extra mile for him! |

Another Good day for Champ in his recovery. He is starting to perk up a little more each day. Laid down & put his head on my lap when I sat down next to him.. He needs a good bath but that will have to wait till he at 30 days into his recovery. So just brushing for now. Still needs mostly rest & getting some weight put back on him slowly for now in addition to plenty of tlc & support from arfcom & SFDR Thanks again to everyone who has donated help this guy & SFDR, It is making a difference. Will post some more pics of him tomorrow. |

I don't know if Zelle is- at least, I've never had any refusal for gun-related purchases through Zelle. At the very least, it would give you another avenue for donations. |

I know absolutely nothing about them, beyond what you have just told me. In the meantime, thank you for wanting to help!  ETA: I say "if I can get a bit of time" because I'm so behind at the moment that I hate to say "I will check this" because it could be a month before I do.

Champ is starting his 4th week into the heartworm treatment. He is doing great, his personality is really starting to come out. He really loves attention. He's eating great & slowly putting on some weight & getting stronger He still has a bit of weekness in his rear legs but thats mainly due to the fact he was so under weight. Champ likes his toys & chew bones, he stole Gunny & Roxannes when they were outside, lol. He even stole one of the cats toys, lol. He is turning out to be a real sweet boy. This evening when we were coming back inside from his bathroom outing, he was being a bit nosy with one of the cats & she swatted him on the nose a few times with no reaction from champ other than he turned & walked away. No signs of aggression at all, although he does growl at Gunny on occasion when Gunny gets too nosy , but the realizes he is not supposed to do that, then he goes & lays down. |
