Quoted: "At this point, what difference does it make?" Seriously, a closed-bottom holster is not going to contain a discharged round. Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Plastic in the wound kinda tells me it wasn’t fully in the holster. The bullet struck the holster on the way out. Probably similar to this: https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/240289/IMG_8084_jpeg-3540040.JPG https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/240289/IMG_8085_png-3540041.JPG https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/240289/IMG_8086_png-3540042.JPG How do you know if the holster had an open bottom? "At this point, what difference does it make?" Seriously, a closed-bottom holster is not going to contain a discharged round. It was me asking how the person I quoted thinks it was a open bottomed holster like he alleged. It does matter. due to the fact he was saying that is how the plastic was found in the wound. |

Quoted: Here is where every dumbass who has their finger on the trigger and shoots themself gets to blame SIG, because of some legit concerns that have been documented. Nothing really seems to show this was a pistol problem instead of a user problem, but they are suing over it anyhow… SIG is gonna get eaten up fighting lawsuits, most of which will be BS user errors, but they will have a hard time proving which is which. And juries are dumb, so it is likely some dumbasses who shot themselves because of their own actions will get money out of it. What a mess. Care to explain how the Military has them go off while holstered and the Safety engaged? |

His point is a matter of forensic/reconstructive indications, rather than containment. |

Quoted: Genius idea! All 320s should come with a kevlar bullet retaining holster! Quoted: Quoted: Holster's fault for not being bulletproof. #NDsToday Genius idea! All 320s should come with a kevlar bullet retaining holster! Second Chance used to make them. I owned a Kevlar level 2 duty belt (still have it someplace), and there was an accompanying holster they would sell with it. The rep said he only ever sold the holsters to some small PD where the Chief bought them all Glock 18’s for their duty pistol… Gotta say, I really liked the kevlar duty belt. It worked great, provided a 2” high belt of protection below the vest. It also had some elastic so it was more comfortable to wear, but that wore out and Second Chance stopped making it long ago…. You have to wear a belt anyhow- why not a level 2 one was my thought… |

Reading is fundamental… |

You have to wear a belt anyhow- why not a level 2 one was my thought… Unless it was super thick that wouldn't actually stop a bullet. And even if it was super thick and could stop pistol rounds, the trauma from getting shot in it would be devastating. Kevlar is useful in belt format for the same reasons it's used in drive belts etc: ridiculously high tensile strength and good abrasion resistance. Eta: also marketing. That's probably it's most useful feature in that form factor. |

Quoted: How many gun manufactures were sued for an alleged UD death caused from a specific model and then attempted to counter the bad press with a "it ends today" type social media campaign that arguably made things even worse for them? Quoted: Quoted: Gun manufacturers being sued for wrongful deaths isn't exclusive to sig, nor is it a new thing. Or tried to Arock someone that pointed out the pistol's flaws.... |

IIRC, they were 200 series SIGs, and I think he was having issues getting parts or SIG was taking a long time to fix em. If he pops in he can update us if they were breaking more regularly than other makes. It wasn't him pointing out the flaws of the 320. |

And all just for that sweet, sweet 320 trigger pull (which it's really kinda not). Let that be a lesson to you kids. Learn to shoot a Glock trigger and leave that shit alone. |
