[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Ron DeSantis is arguably the Best U.S. Governor Ever! Have questions about the Presidential Run? (Page 4 of 4)

Quoted: I don’t expect any pro 2nd Amendment legislation on the Federal level but a good Republican president hopefully will give us good judges. A squish like Bush will give us iffy judges. A Democrat will give us openly hostile judges. Maybe not but my question has to do with ANY legislation. If you can't move it with a supermajority from your own party that doesn't bode well for anything but the easiest votes. |

Quoted: I agree but he still hired everyone of them. They were his staff. If they were swamp folk, that doesn't say much about his wisdom. Quoted: Quoted: Since everyone in DC it s swamp he was probably right to ignore them 90% of the time. I agree but he still hired everyone of them. They were his staff. If they were swamp folk, that doesn't say much about his wisdom. indeed... Bannon details their "original sin" ![]() America's Great Divide: Steve Bannon (first interview) | FRONTLINE |

We have people all over this site discouraging others from voting, their excuse today is the raising of the debt ceiling, but there are significant differences between the parties. Getting good judges is vital. |

Quoted: Are we voting for his press secretary? Quoted: Quoted: This is one of the silliest arguments out there. Politics is full of scumbags. DeSantis’ press secretary apparently supported impeachment, do you hold that against him? Are we voting for his press secretary? Did we vote for the people Trump hired (at the recommendation of the GOP)? You can’t have it both ways, you can’t blame Trump and excuse DeSantis for the same thing. |

Quoted: You haven’t formed an opinion on lockdowns? /media/mediaFiles/sharedAlbum/dont_believe_you_anchorman_zps267e5cbb_GIF-108.gif Notafan at all. Trump (foolishly IMO) listened to the "top" recognized medical professionals on the subject at the time. Had he hired me to advise him in 2017 I could have told him these and so many others are evil to the core. |

Quoted: Well...to be fair, many here keep saying that the folks you hire reflect back on you, as they should. Quoted: Quoted: Are we voting for his press secretary? Well...to be fair, many here keep saying that the folks you hire reflect back on you, as they should. That’s true but the thesis for one candidate is his ability to drain the swap and hire only the best. Despite ample evidence to the contrary, it’s still parroted. |

Trump criticized republican governors for reopening too soon. |

Lockdowns had such a scientific consensus that they were found in no state’s pandemic response plans prior to covid. |

Trump is doubling down saying he wouldn't have done anything differently because his ego won't let him. He can't admit he fucked up. |

Quoted: He supported a 23% federal sales tax to abolish the IRS. Quoted: Quoted: I heard something about his plan to get rid of the IRS. If thats true then I would vote for him . . . after he follows through. Till then, i'll probably vote Trump since he already followed through on some pretty massive things that were thought to be impossible dreams. He supported a 23% federal sales tax to abolish the IRS. 23% of a tax which is listed specifically on the Communist Manifesto! What a patriot comrades! And what about the other taxes? Property tax, estate tax, luxury tax inheritance tax, fuel tax, etc., etc.. Conservatives need to stop being crumb eaters. |

Quoted: I am hoping you understand Trump promised to hire the best people. Was Jeff Sessions on the "acceptable list" of people Trump was allowed to hire? Because he was flat-out awful too, just like 99% of Trump's hires. And just so you know - when Trump came into office he could have hired the best person to be AG and he could have gotten him confirmed, like all presidents do when they are first elected, but he fucked it to high hell, as usual. But please go on about how its not actually Trump's fault that he is fooled over and over again. Quoted: Quoted: I'm hoping that you understand that POTUS does not get to just hire who he wants for positions that require the consent of the Senate you can rest assured that in many instances a POTUS is presented with a list of names that have already been hashed out by his staff and Senate staff and thus deemed "acceptable" and likely to be approved. Also remember that the GOP Senate made sure they never officially recessed the Senate in order to not allow Obama to make recess appointments, THEY DID THE SAME THING to Trump, a member of their OWN party... You think they're going to willingly allow someone in that is going to look into their crimes? I am hoping you understand Trump promised to hire the best people. Let's look at a short list of key "best people": Swamp "Best People" hired by Trump (this is the short list) 1) Jared Kushner/Trump son-in-law, Soros business partner (w/his anti-2A donating brother) to the tune of $500,000,000. A regular guest at Soros' home with "beautiful Ivanka". He was appointed highest presidential adviser for 4 years. Helped get Israel $360 billion dollar check for Trump to sign at lightning speed (first year). 2) Bill Barr - attorney general/highest law enforcement position. He was George HW Bush's AG and drafted the domestic assault weapons ban and mag ban for Bush's crime bill in 1991 which ended up part of Clinton's Brady Bill and ban. He publicly stated he was in favor of a permanent mag ban as well as Bush's 1989 AW import ban. 3) democrat General Mattis. 'Nuff said? 4) globalist Rothschild banking head Wilber Ross. Rothschild bank bailed the Trump corporation out of failure in the early 1990s and Wilber was "da man". His reward was Commerce Secretary. 5) at least 6 Goldman Sachs banking corporate heads to White House advisory positions. (And Ted Cruz would be "owned" by GS because his wife had a position there according to Trump - LOL!) 6) Chuck Canteberry picked by Trump to head BATFE. When pro-2A groups reached out to Trump's office with info that Canteberry was anti-gun, Trump pushed for him anyway. Canteberry had so much anti-2A history that even RINO Republicans pushed so that he would not be appointed. 7) Trump left ALL Obama appointees at ATF for his entire term. 8) Appointed openly homosexual Richard Grinnel as ambassador to Germany and then continues to use him to shove the gay agenda down the throats of Republican party by hosting and promoting the gay Log Cabin Republican events at Mar-a-Lago. (Gee, Trump still hasn't sprung $300 for a conference room at Holiday Inn for the first Second Amendment Coalition meeting - still holding on to that supporter-donated $250 million to Stop the Steal). 9) Who was the "best people" in charge of the Second Amendment Coalition??? Big promise two months before the election with promises by Don Sr. and Jr. yet the the coalition page taken down from Trump's website months after he is sworn into office. Firearms industry people chosen to be involved NEVER heard from the Trumps again. Sure, he will drain the swamp this time... |

Quoted: You're totally full of shit. DeSantis went along with the federal guidelines put out by the trump administration. He saw the data and realized the guidelines were wrong and reopened. Then he banned mask and vaccine mandates and sent kids back to school. DeSantis admitted it was wrong and changed what he was doing. We should be making that shit here anyways. |

Quoted: /media/mediaFiles/sharedAlbum/476-342.gif Even if we accept your bullshit premise, Trump still thinks it was right. Shows extremely poor judges. Again with all the "recognized experts" pushing him to lockdown I'm not sure what his INITIAL play sould have been. Had he DISallowed (if possible), States from locking down he would have been blamed for every "COVID" death even moreso than he already is. It was a shitty place to be in politically and in the end he fucked HIMself. |
|
Quoted: I'm more worried about members here that are being easily duped by him and refuse to look behind the curtain because they have Trump Derangement syndrome. I'm not worried about him winning the nomination because that's not going to happen . Trump will win the nomination So says the president of the Trump cult. I know connecticut hates conservatives but damn you are fanatic. |

Quoted: I have to admit that's an excellent point Quoted: Quoted: DeSantis knew it was wrong and did it anyway. Trump thought it was right but didn’t overstep his legal bounds. I have to admit that's an excellent point So Desantis was gutless and Trump was stupid in 2020? Which of those two things were most likely to change given the evidence of the last three years. |

There were people telling him not to shut down very early in the pandemic and three years later still thinks lockdowns were the right choice. See scott atlas. He didn’t have to “disallow” it. He could have not pushed for lockdowns. He was going to get blamed for every covid death anyway. |

Wow he was able to gain influence in that many camps and do basically the opposite of what they would do if they had control over him? Impressive. Sounds like what a good businessman would do. I do count at least three of those that are pure speculation and I notice you didn't list anything that these individuals did for the administration (many of which are pretty impressive). Kushner for one. Let him visit whoever he wants and have connections to questionable people, the things he accomplished behind the scenes are pretty much unheard of and very few people know that it was him who pushed most of the biggest issues conservatives wanted. Anything that trump can be praised for was primarily accomplished by Kushner. |
