Left no tip. Fuck stupid family and stupid restaurant owners. But you're fucking over the server, who probably hates it just as much as you, if not more since they are around it all the time on the job.Which was a complete douche move.
+1 And then blab on the internet about how nobody would've done anything if he committed theft on top of it. Unbelievable.

Restaurant Receipt Shows Secret Well-Behaved Kids Discount http://jobs.aol.com/articles/2014/05/13/restaurant-receipt-shows-secret-well-behaved-kids-discount/?ncid=txtlnkusaolp00000058& More places should start doing this. I would definitely be more likely to frequent a place that discourages a-hole parents from letting their fucktrophies run wild. Just so long as it's EARNED and not some freebie to try and fool the rest of us then it is a good idea. |
| No one expects your kids to behave like miniature librarians, however YOU as the parent, as the ADULT, ARE expected to take the kid out if he/she is being an obnoxious little shit. The problem is too many parents today who think their little crotchfruit are so precious, can do no wrong, and everyone around them should be miserable. If that's you, then you are a failure as a responsible parent. |

So, the restaurant received full payment while the waiter/waitress got fucked? Gee, you sure showed them. Quoted:

Someday that family guy will be you. Although it is likely that you will have better control over your children there will be times where you will not. Then it'll be your turn to get complained about. At this point, I look forward to that. Payback time, bitches. My child, my rules.
And if you say something about it, I will consider it harassment and order you to step away from my child immediately before I phone the authorities. Can't wait for my wife to breast feed in public, too. That's gonna be fun. Might as well open carry, too. Requires sex for OP.
No, just her. |

Quoted: It's obviously apparent who in this thread has kids involved in their lives and who doesn't. Those of you that don't are assuming that you are able to rationally control an irrational individual. Kids are kids. You yourself were also the child complained about at one point or another. I have a young boy and he is the happiest most charming little guy that is always smiling everywhere he goes. Does that mean that he sits quietly and eats with formal French dining etiquette? No, absolutely not. Some meals he is quiet and fantastic, others he drops food all over the place, starts yelling, albeit happily and probably pisses you off... but really I don't care if you get mad, it doesn't affect me. We clean up after ourselves, we tip well, and apologize to others that take our little guy's antics in stride. If you're rude to me about it you'd probably get a polite, "Fuck off." and maybe you'd end up stealing your dinner from the restaurant. That's on you. The point is that he is little. He is learning little bit by little bit how to become a rational human being rather the irrational little creature he is. Children are a part of life. Embrace life and be thankful you don't live in some third world crap hut. Way overblown issue. Anything else unfairly inconveniences those around you, and is selfish and rude. The "fuck off" on top of that would be oafish.

We're not talking about a $7 per person buffet here. I realize some of you are only familiar with Golden Corral style buffets but they aren't all like that. Threads like these are a further reminder I should just stay home and eat food in the comfort of my own home. Quoted:

Oh for god's sake, you're the one getting worked up here. I wouldn't sit there and eat a full meal for free and try to run out on it. I'm talking about leaving when the only thing on the table is two freaking sodas. Don't get your panties up in a wad about it. ![]() Quoted:

Oh nose! Your dining experience was less satisfactory due to another patron crying! It must be the restaurant's fault and the server's fault and obviously the parent's fault because a different sentient person was making noise! What shall we do!! Let's STEAL from the restaurant! Let's ROB the server! Let's DEMAND and apology from the parents! Oh for god's sake, you're the one getting worked up here. I wouldn't sit there and eat a full meal for free and try to run out on it. Letting your kid scream for 1.5 hours and annoy the fuck out of everyone else in my mind is a worse crime than a restaurant losing the $.30 cents over two poured sodas. That's my two sense. Would I use this as an opportunity to eat a giant ass free meal? No. Would I have bounced after a couple minutes if by myself? Yes. Quoted:

I'm really curious how you reconcile your "if it ain't nailed down" view of commerce with your self-proclaimed libertarianism. If it means that much to the restaurant, they can have a contract I sign up front stating the terms and conditions of their restaurant eating experience. If I don't like the terms, I won't eat there. If I like the terms I will. And if I agreed to them, I would be obliged to adhere. I don't recall agreeing to anything up front, however. People who can't be trusted to do the right thing in the absence of civil and criminal repercussions are one of the reasons government is bigger than it needs to be. So I went to a buffet yesterday for mother's day with my soon-to-be in-laws... They seated us next to a family of "respectable and definitely legal citizens" and I notice a 3 year old kid in a booster seat. My first thought is - this kid is gonna cry as soon as we sit down. Sure enough - 30 seconds into us sitting down, WAHHHHHHHHHHHH WAHHHHHH SCREAM GAHHHHHH Parents made no attempt to quiet the kid down. No apology. No taking Junior outside for awhile. They let the kid scream out straight for 10 minutes. We picked up our dishes and moved to a different table and complained to the manager, who made no attempt to speak with the family of unruly child. Family gave us nasty looks the rest of the evening. Their child continued to scream for the entire 1.5 hours we were there. Numerous other families proceeded to complain, yet the manager refused to address the situation or even walk in the vicinity of the problem family. Check comes. Paid the bill. Left no tip. Fuck stupid family and stupid restaurant owners. If I was there myself I would have walked out on the tab, but don't want to make a bad impression on soon-to-be in-laws. So what does GD do under these circumstances? What did you expect at a buffet? Low class meals usually attract low class folks. No offense to you intended. |

So you were there for 1.5 hours and never touched either one of the 2 sodas? Quoted:
Good luck figuring out who I am as I'm walking out the door. You'd call the police on someone leaving 2 untouched sodas on the table? Wow. Quoted:
Quoted:I've only dealt with a situation like this a handful of times , but I never had to hire a lawyer.
Either you paid , or I pressed charges. Now it may be where I live , but the Police were always happy to get involved. Good luck figuring out who I am as I'm walking out the door. You'd call the police on someone leaving 2 untouched sodas on the table? Wow. |

Quoted: Those of you that don't are assuming that you are able to rationally control an irrational individual. Kids are kids. You yourself were also the child complained about at one point or another. No, I was not. My parents are courteous and respectful people and not white trash, and if and when I misbehaved the behavior was either corrected or they paid their check and left.

In these cases I start screaming as loud as the offending child. Winner! I seriously once saw a guy next to a screaming kid go out to his vehicle, bring in a battery powered boom box and played some death metal towards the child as loud as possible. Offending family left and guy was asked to leave. He got a free meal out of it. |

Lol brunch at $30 a head might as well be Golden Corral in my experience. |

This is why we need smoking sections again. I don't even smoke, but always used to ask to sit in smoking to avoid the family friendly side of a restaurant. I'd take my kid to the smoking section to piss off smokers and non-smokers.
But I'd still leave a tip unlike mister giant asshole |

My grandma was at a restaurant with my father and mother one day and they had a screaming child 2 tables over. Quoted: Regardless though of how children are acting or parents are reacting, unless it's so bad that your being physically assaulted and/or having food/items thrown at you... I don't think there is any excuse for someone to just walk out on a tab and steal from an establishment or treat the server like it's their fault. That's some 100% Simple Jack derp right there. |
