Remember the video a year or two ago where a bunch of people from a villiage killed a crocodile and cut its belly open to get one of their children out?  THAT was real.  They were pulling arms and legs out and it was really nasty!

Man, now you need to post a link!

I'm trying my best to find it.  I remember it was posted on Arfcom some time back.

One of my patients had some photos of that snake that killed the kid in South America. I believe it was in Brazil? He said that the people in the small towns and villages don't bother those snakes and they usually don't bother humans. He did say that the kill cows that cross small streams all the time. I don't know where I left the pics but they have pictures of the snake in the back of a pick-up bed and you can definitely see the outline of the kid. Fellow arfcom member Pedro66 can verify this because I left the pics on my desk when he came over and noticed them immediately.

thanks,
Ron

Dude, the title says "Python eats kid."

Am I the only one who thought the term "kid" would be referring to a baby goat?

The title should read "Python eats live human child" or something.

Don't be too surprized man, it's just the "Uncle Fester" branch of the gun-owning family-tree that seems to get such a "kick"() out of shit like this.

From some of the posts it seems as though they HAVE enjoyed this "WONDERFUL" story (With "Cool" "Awewsome" pics even!) of a child being consumed by a large reptile.

"They're creepy and they're kookey........"

well, lets have some facts.
#1 thats a reticulated python, the longest snake in the world, the anaconda is the biggest bodied snake

#2 the reticulated python preys on many animals and have taken(caught on film) deer, crocodiles, yes crocs as big or bigger than that kid

#3 the kid came out of the reticulated python, it's known that children are taken if left alone near the waters edge, by snakes or crocs and it happens frequently like the Bengal tigers preying on humans

#4 snopes is so full of shit from what they said they show very little knowledge of snakes and what they can do, anyone one that should be able to tell me what that snake can eat needs to be able to tell what snake it is

One of the science channels had a documentary on Pythons and Anacondas last week..They fed a big one a bird that was wired with pressure sensors and shot it with a high speed camera..The initial takedown took less than 2 seconds with several coils wrapped around the bird in less than 10secs.. IIRC they recorded 80psi the snake was putting on the bird and if it had been a man it would have been the equivalent of a school bus on his chest

I saw that same program, the guy killed by the Reticulated python and almost swallowed had EVERY bone in his body snapped which also makes it easier for the snake to eat.

I got to watch a small green tree python make a kill once on the golf course in Thailand.

It was wrapped around a lizard as big as it was.  The lizard was trying to bite back (but failed to break skin).  All the while the snake put this relentless pressure on the lizard.  Towards the end it was bending in ways a lizard isn't supposed to.

On a side note I like reticulated python.  Got a belt make from one and would LOVE some good boots

Couldn't find anything in SNOPES yet.  Hmmmmmmmm

There's this:

www.snopes.com/horrors/animals/anaconda.htm

Very similar. I would say that this is just a new variation, and it's a fake.
Just because Snopes says it is fake , that does not mean it is not real. They are looking at the pic like U and me, they are not over there seeing it first hand.

Uh.........."Probably" not.

There IS however a HUGE difference between the attitudes of people who would see this as the HORRIBLE tragedy that it is (If it's true at all) VS the ones that simply find it "Amusing"....."Enjoy" my ass. You got a great sense of humor there 'Fester
