Quoted: Those are near full trigger pulls. 9mm is over 1/3 of an inch of movement. Saying the sear is falling “without a trigger pull” is a fucking lie. Quoted: Quoted: Video showing various guns being tested for firing without complete pulling of the trigger. Drop test and slide manipulation. Echelon had trigger move 6.5mm then slide manipulation to get it to fire. Walther PDP - 9.0mm trigger movement with slide manipulation to striker release (but it was a repeatable light strike) Springfield XD - 12.8mm trigger travel with slide manipulatio Glock 19C - 11.5mm trigger travel to go off with slide manipulation. Canik - 11.4mm (though it took some time to get it to go off with slide manipulation not just trigger travel) Those are near full trigger pulls. 9mm is over 1/3 of an inch of movement. Saying the sear is falling “without a trigger pull” is a fucking lie. Was there any mention of how many of those pistols have a trigger safety? Moving a trigger with a safety 9-11mm unintentionally has to have a very low chance of happening |
![]() So, let me get this straight: if I pull a trigger to defeat internal safeties, almost to the point of releasing the striker, and then mess with the slide to get the last little bit of clearance for the striker to fall that's "firing without pulling the trigger" now? ![]() What a waste of time. |

I'll throw my hat in the ring. Almost 30 years ago when I was still in college I pocket carried a Jennings 22 (I know cheap ass gun, but I was a broke ass college student like no car rode a bike everywhere). I was getting into my then girlfriend's now wife's car and the gun fell out of my pocket and hit the garage floor. It went off and the bullet ricocheted off the garage floor and hit the beaded seam that runs up and down the side of my cowboy boot. It hurt like hell and scared the shit out of me, but all it did was take a small chunk out of that leather bead. I assume that since it is rim fire the side of the rim hit up against the chamber or the striker moved (less likely because it works more like a firing pin by moving forward and not slapping the rim) and hit the rim. When I picked up the pistol the safety was still on and the firing pin was still all the way back. Either way lesson learned. My wife who is five years older and already well established career wise (had her own car and house and good job) said fuck that and bought me a Glock 30 (brand new model at the time) for my birthday that was just around the corner. That's when I knew she was a keeper. |

Quoted: It turns out the "issue" with the P320 is that the did the same thing every other striker gun is doing, but just added the super light crisp trigger everyone was demanding - which is exactly what knowledgeable people were saying from the start before the internet outrage decided there just had to be serious engineering issues that SIG and the government were covering up. I've never heard the the 320 trigger being described as "crisp" before. |

If I actually cared, I’d bust out my micrometer and determine the length of trigger pull necessary to deactivate the internal safety on my Glocks and Walthers. OP is almost certainly turning off the internal safety WITH a trigger pull, and certainly getting the striker to the very last angstrom of hold on the sear before jostling the slide to knock it off the edge. This has absolutely no bearing on the Sig 320 situation which has a dogcrap striker safety which can fail in multiple ways, a sear with minimal hold on a fully cocked striker, striker springs that can wear out, and a striker that basically acts as a collection point for debris. Apples to Polaris snowmobiles. |

It took a long time for Sig to catch up with Taurus in this aspect, but they finally succeeded.![]() Watch Taurus 24/7 pistol fire just by being shaken |

Quoted: Do the T94 Nambu. I mean Yes, and no. Yes in that it is documented that it can easily go off if the hammer release was pressed. And "no" because there arent likely more than a couple thousand in existence(if that), AND those are not a duty gun under ANY circumstances, AND those that have one likely dont have ammo for it, or a desire to shoot it(too collectable). |

This isn’t the issue, at all. This is a “test” that came late to the discussion that simply obfuscates the issue. Now people are fixated on this horseshit rather than the plethora of other data, lawsuits, videos and testimonies that point to the P320 having a genuine engineering flaw or series of flaws. |

What would be inerestesting is a chart that basically says: Travel to break release the sear as designed = x Travel to allow the sear to release by fucking with the slide = y For each one of those guns. I didn't know it before that video, but other guns will fire if slapped around before a full trigger press. In hindsight, I'm not surprised, but I would like to know how much of a pull is required for each gun. Is the Sig worse than others or about the same? Based on videos we've seen so far, it would appear to be worse, but I'd like to see a real test and data. |

The idea that there's a specific amount of trigger pull that is supposed to fire the gun is not quite correct. The reality is that there is a trigger pull range in which the gun is supposed to fire. These partial trigger pull tests all show pistols firing in the pull range where they're supposed to fire (with the possible exception of the PDP and Canik). |

Uncommanded discharges with striker fired guns is a possibility. Makes one wonder about the infancy of glock leg with glocks. Holsters were not as fit to the firearm as now. A shirt or something lodged in the holster could have moved the trigger and trigger safety back enough to later have a discharge with some extra jostling/movement. |
| Reminds me of a few years ago when I bought a Remington 700 VSSF in 220 Swift on the used market around here, guy had messed with the trigger(didn’t find this out till I got it home) but the hammer would fall about half the time when I closed the bolt, I texted him and he took the rifle back no problem, but at the time it worried me enough that I just didn’t want it, beautiful rifle though. |

Is it not a bit disingenuous to say they went off "without pulling the trigger", when you are in fact pulling the trigger a decent distance to achieve the results? Its like saying a woman got pregnant without having sex, but she did have sex just had her partner pull out at the last second. |

It is astounding how those people barely running on three brain cells seem to focus on (and jump from thread to thread) firearms other than the 320 and can’t differentiate just the sear being released on 1mm of trigger travel vs pulling the trigger 90%+ plus of the way then fucking around with the slide.
