Your point is correct. The thing is, those people are precisely who everyone is trying to hire, for any job, no matter how unqualified or ill fitting they are for the position. Virtue signaling is more important than hiring the best people these days. With some jobs there's really not all that much damage a bad hire can do. Police officer? Well we see examples of people killed unjustly, rights trampled, and lives ruined on pretty much a daily basis as a result of this practice. Military and police should be held to a different and much higher standard for who gets in, not dragged down to the same standards as McDonalds. Police forces and the military should NOT "reflect society". Have you fucking SEEN "society" these days? |
