Again, reading is fundamental. I was referring to the guy who used the Strike Eagle, not the guy who wrote the article. It doesn't take a tactical expert to realize that a Strike Eagle is at about the bottom of the barrel when it comes to LPVOs, and they don't belong on fighting guns when so many better options exist for barely double the $300 cost. I won't make any exceptions to my opinion, regardless of what a 26 year SF veteran says. Furthermore, I am genuinely curious why they had to use privately purchased optics on the deployment mentioned. If they had access to ACOGs and Elcans, why would someone use a cheap Vortex over that? Especially if they mostly had offset RDS. I would sooner take an Elcan or a TA31 with an offset RDS over a cheap LPVO, and I would bet the glass on the TA31 or Elcan at 4x would actually allow you see clearer at distance over a wider range of environments. I'll even go one step further. If by some travesty there are combat units deploying who aren't given optics, and they have soldiers who are so strained financially they can only afford cheap shit optics, I want to know about it. I will personally put up money to help them get decent stuff, loan them my own, or get some sort of fund drive going to support them so they don't have to deploy with garbage. |

I was legitimately amazed how shitty the glass was on my strike eagle. I get budget optics if that’s what you can afford, but there are much better budget optics available. I love that this has become a strike eagle bashing thread now!  It’s a product that needs to die. |

Bill's quick response caused me to decide that since I haven't been able to find either of the uppers I want in stock anywhere, but the Geissele website currently has available, for backorder, one of them as a whole-ass-gun, I would just go ahead and order that. And, of course, the result is that I learned I can't navigate something as simple as the e-cart on geissele dot com. See thread in Industry, that could be alternately titled "brasscrossedrifles can't online shopping". |

I keep them separate and use Daniel Defense mags for the 300 BO, the ammo isn't even kept on the same side of the gun room and I've only shot the BO twice. I'm gonna say it was 300 BO. Only because if it was me, and I kept the ammo on the other side of the room AND use different mags. I would swear up and down it wasn't me, to only find out it was me, cause that's just my fucking luck

I'll take some heat off you OP for the optic :) Sorry to see that happen and its great it will be taken care of. I can say a strike eagle wont blow up an expensive rifle lol, I put a gen II 1-6 strike eagle and a chinese burris mount on here just to see if I would like a LPVO, sad to admit I havent changed it almost a year.

My first one I have been running in 3 gun for almost 4 years. It has been flawless. Vortex has replaced 2 scopes over the years, no questions asked. That was good enough to get my first strike eagle. |

The way the OP keeps referring to the ammo as some vague bulk pack ammo seems strange. Now there are no boxes and the ammo came with mags but he has no idea what kind it was. You can't look through your emails to see who you bought it from or the order details? |

The company president coming to bat for the customer is one reason I have no concerns when I pimp G to other shooters. I have let folks shoot my CWAR more than once and that has sold triggers, not because I get paid to (I don't of course) but because the have great products and great service. I never hesitate to pimp my G and ALG CW stuff because it is good stuff. |
