But....but....wait this doesn't fit the current narrative. Yeah, black woman defending her children. This one really was "for the children"!
I can only imagine McCrappy (Chicago's police chief) in this situation. The Detroit police chief commended this woman and said she did nothing illegal. McCrappy would likely prefer to choke than say that! |

I love the unbiased reporting: "punks" "thugs" "low lifes" ![]() I loved that, too! Here in Chicago, sometimes they can't even bring themselves to give a suspect's race. How the hell are you supposed to be on the lookout for a thug if you don't have a complete description? |

Good looking out for your niece. As an aside, I'm wondering if they had the carbine because it was Detroit and there are restrictive pistol laws? (I don't know--is Detroit like Shitcago and DC for pistol laws in the house?) Quoted:

I've always found those butt ugly, cheapass hi point carbines to be pretty reliable. Look at the condition of that thing; and yet it went bang when needed. While I have no experience of my own, I'm going to have to agree with your observation. I gave one (9mm) to my Niece when she was having abusive BF issues years ago. It never gave me any issues, was accurate with the little SKS scope I put on it, and goodness knows how many rounds she has put through it in the years she has owned it with no issues. She had me get her a couple more mags for it and when I called her to tell her to come and pick them up she showed-up with the money for the mags and $200.00 for the carbine. I took the money for the mags but refused the $200.00. Good looking out for your niece. As an aside, I'm wondering if they had the carbine because it was Detroit and there are restrictive pistol laws? (I don't know--is Detroit like Shitcago and DC for pistol laws in the house?) This may be partially true, but also consider that most people are not gun people. They do not shoot often or practice much. It is far easier to use a light small carbine than a pistol. |

Second Amendment at work. Couple of center mass shots would send an even stronger message. Dumbass would not have tried re entry. Glad she was able to defend her family. I wonder if the jackass prosecutors in the ban states would prosecute Mom for that semi-auto rifle? Hi Point Carbine IS considered an "assault weapon" in California. So yeah, she would be facing charges. And be disarmed for the criminals return visit. Hi Point Carbines have the ergonomics and appeal of a framing hammer. But are about as reliable as one. Buddy of mine has one, it goes bang everytime. |

While I have no experience of my own, I'm going to have to agree with your observation. When CA started it's safety testing of hand guns, all the cheapo pot metal pos's passed. Some of the big$$ big names didn't make it. Probably because they were made to too tight target tolerances and dropping overpowered their normally satisfactory safeties. Shocked the antis when the cheap stuff didn't fail. |

Quoted: I've honestly thought about getting a Hipoint carbine to keep in my truck. I took one in on a trade about 8 years ago, I shot it when I got it and it only jammed on me with 1 of the 3 mags that came with it but I oiled it up and threw it in a corner of my gun room I sold it 4 weeks ago for $150 and I gave the guy that I got it off of $75 in trade value |

Also 2nd invasion attempt... something is up with that. Obvious target is obvious. They need to move. Our new Detroit police chief is so hardcore and HATES criminals (he was carjacked a few months ago), I wouldn't be surprised if he took the gun from her (while keeping a unit stationed at her house), had his team clean it up and make sure its functionality is perfect and returned it to her with a box of fresh ammo. This is the same chief that said everyone should carry. Quoted:

The butt ugly, cheap ass Hi Point pistols are too. Ergonomics of a cordless drill, but reliable. ![]() Mine is lucky to get through a magazine without a stoppage. The carbines seem to be much better in terms of reliability. This lady is the perfect case for a pistol caliber carbine. It's a great weapon for this sort of situation. |

I have no idea if it's true or not, but it was clearly..........uh...........inspired by the CX4. The Beretta was what made me start looking at 9mm carbines. I wasn't sure if I wanted one, though, and for less than half the price I figured I'd get the Hi Point as a test subject. I like it enough that I never got rid of it, but I don't get to shoot it enough, nor is it a "need to have" gun for me, so I never got the nicer Storm. |

I have to say that this thread is perfectly titled in a way that captures all of the keywords you may want to use in a pre-post anti dupe search.
Kudos to the OP for having a hot topic thread, properly formatted, that has yet to be replicated internethighfive.jpg |

Ahh, that explains the strong family resemblance then Thank you for taking the time to post that explanation Flats. I know next to nothing about the HiPoint carbine, and only a bit more about their handguns. My daughter loves her Storm, and at the moment oddly it is the only PCC in the house. The only thing saving me from bankruptcy is that my kiddo loves to shoot rimfire even more than 9mm...Thank God Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile I know nothing about the handguns, but the carbine is a fun little piece. It's crude and the trigger sucks, but it's dead nuts reliable, cheap, accurate, made in the US, and they'll stand behind it if you're the 10th owner and it's seen 20k rounds. It's also stout and uses a simple blowback action, so you can shoot all the +p+ you can get your hands on. There's a video somewhere of guys stuffing the barrel with mud trying to get it to kaboom, and they couldn't do it. The biggest downsides are the original stock (it wasn't just ugly, it was flimsy) and the mag capacity. |

It is interesting that the one criminal chose to stick around after being shot at. Hell, he tried going back in.
That's not just stupid, that's felony stupid. I suspect he is not long for this world with judgment like that. But we have been told repeatedly all that needs to happen is to make a noise, and criminals will run away....... What, a "bad" guy who behaves in a manner inconceivable to the average, normal, law abiding citizen? Say it ain't so...... |
