Great movie. From the fact checking it looks like they really nailed it, for the most part.
The villain role of the NTSB is a little over played, but otherwise it's accurate. Tom Hanks totally nails the role, as usual. |

I've been done watching Tom Hanks play Tom Hanks for years. Don't hate the guy, but never saw him as a talented actor. Of course if you play a retard or fag you're gonna win some awards. Also not big into "fact-based" movies, at least recent ones. Give me a documentary, I don't need Hollywood's phony drama, politics, love stories, and revisionist history.

The NTSB took 15 months to investigate and report because they check every single possibility. I'm glad he got some more recognition for his ability (he got tons of it soon after the flight) and I hope he got a good check from the studio, but it would have to have oral sex in it to make me want to pay to see it. |

I believe you'll find ARF/GD a very congenial social media environment. My husband and I saw it in IMAX yesterday. Given that it was a feel-good movie about an actual event and not a documentary, I thought it was well done. Yeah, the flight crew vs NTSB angle was over simplified and starkly drawn, but it probably captured the tone of a fifteen month investigation as well as could be hoped for in fifteen minutes. My take-away from it was that, in a completely unforeseen and largely unforeseeable situation, a whole bunch of people, instinctively and competently, did the right thing. EOS. |
