Quoted: I can't imagine the military adopting a design with no manual safety. The Glock 19 MHS submitted for the trials had a thumb safety. If Glock had received the award we wouldn't be having these discussions. Picture |

Quoted: Are MIL guys carrying the pistol chambered? Quoted: Quoted: Speaking of the big green weenie, is there any reports of accidental discharges in any of the DOD pistols? I have read here about many on the civilian side but I haven’t heard any from the military. Are MIL guys carrying the pistol chambered? Marines issued an order to carry with an empty chamber. |

And probably half the LE agencies who adapted the 320 wouldn't have. |

Quoted: I do hope someone in the DOD pipeline is looking into replacement of those M17/18's and review the procurement of them in the first place. Probably less an issue with .mil as they typically carry chamber empty anyway to prevent 19 year old MP’s from ND’ing a drunk Colonel’s SUV on a Friday night. |

Quoted: They're still fully in simp/denial mode. Quoted: Quoted: Wow…. The firm involved in suing says it represents more than 100 P320 victims. That’s a lot. The people that have been trying to claim this was Glock Leg have some crow to eat. They're still fully in simp/denial mode. No amount of evidence will ever persuade an idiot. Mark Twain |

Quoted: From the article at the link: The firm says it represents "more than 100 P320 victims injured by Sig Sauer’s first striker-fired (in contrast to a traditional hammer) pistol" and alleges that "Sig Sauer is the only gunmaker to make a mass-produced sidearm that lacks an external safety to guard against unintended discharges." “Skelator-What?”.Gif |

i'm not a big fan of this ruling. As I read it, Sig wanted the trial moved to Federal court, and said "we want to be the litigant on the other side of this". The lawyer essentially roped in some distributor in their state so it could be heard in state court. AKA the blood stains on the legal walls behind the firing squad victims of the rest of the gun industry just got another splash of gore. This is a win for anti-gunners. Maybe even a BIG one. Its part of the "every person that touched this gun in commerce is responsible" game, where you sue FedEx/UPS/The gun store/the distributor/Sig Sauer/the people that provide metal to Sig Sauer/the people that made the machines the gun was made on/the CAD software vendor that Sig uses/and the flower shop that delivered flowers to any and all of these people". Forever. |

Quoted: Too many unanswered questions about the holsters involved, shirt tails, keys, other foreign objects, operator error/actions and truthfulness of operator statements of their actions persist. I guess you missed the whole FBI ballistics lab forensic investigation into the P320. |

No, really there's not. The questions have been answered, some people just don't want to hear the answers. |

His holster looked like it did a very good job of protecting the trigger area, and the guy had things in both hands at the time of the weapons discharge. Nothing was anywhere near his firearm. Its questionable (not in a casual way, but legally) how the FBI did their testing. They were able to get it to fire after the primary sear surface was defeated. If I were a lawyer, I would say that both systems have to fail and thats unlikely yadda yadda yad. Harder to do when talking about a gun that fired all by its lonesome. The best part of their test though was how the entire trigger/firing mechanism had heavy self-destructive wear after 1200 rounds. Seems not good. |

Quoted: striker fired pistols - I don't trust any of them. gen x growing up hitting gun shows as a kid i bought mostly da/sa berettas and rarely anything hammer fired. my first notice of striker fired guns is that they were all saturday night specials or glocks. right about the time the atf guy gave himself glock leg and slid down the ladder while attacking the branch davidian compound live on national tv. its no wonder i never got into striker guns given that. i can see where you are coming from. too many fine italian and german hammer fired guns were the benchmark. shame to see the new kiddies go the way of the plastic striker fired stuff pointed at their balls all day. i get it. im no gramps yet but if thats a gramps then its great to be a fellow gramps! |

Those guns will eventually be looked at like the gen 1 Taurus PT 24/7. Those would fire just from shaking them. They were quickly removed from the market and replaced with an updated version- which was also discontinued. Sig putting their name on those things is a true shame. |

I went all in on my 320 X5 Legion. I’m more pissed about the shit load of $40 useless mags I have now. It was a new design I bought in 2019, I purchased understanding the risk of a new product . 6 years later this comes to light, and their actually useful design uses different mags… |

There’s no trigger dingus or any other feature to prevent the trigger from being pulled inadvertently. Whether Sig is the only manufacturer that doesn’t put any form of external safety on their pistols, IDK. |

the new sig sucks and the old will forever rock. the old sig can never be tarnished as a company. night and day difference. whats left of new sig is cooked. stick a fork in it. they will never recover from whats about to unfold. the harm they have done is not reversable because they shipped so many junk indian parts guns worldwide with some greedy and shady overseas contracts. whats unfolding in usa is just the beginning. the overseas sales due to savage marketing to both sides of conflicts in asia etc has been massive and the awareness its sigs fault hasnt even caught on in other places yet. |
