It is a place you could build a 1911 pistol just by walking around.

That was the best advice someone said to me about the Tulsa Gun Show.

The Tulsa show is in a class all its own. I grew up in Northeast Oklahoma and have been going to the show for decades.
If you need it you will find it there. But as others have said if you find what you're looking for buy it when you see it cause it probably won't be there if you come back.

The local newspaper Tulsa World once said if you “walk every row past every table you will have 15 seconds at each table and you will have walked 6 miles” or something similar. It’s 11 acres under one roof without any internal support columns. I go to at least one of the two shows (April & Nov) every year since I moved to the Tulsa area in ‘76. They always say there’s folks from all 50 states and several foreign countries in attendance. I personally liked it better pre-internet. I’d spend all year shopping & buying from Shotgun News, then go to this show. Expect to see about 4,200-4,400 tables.

Wow.  Local one is (or was) 1300 tables, and I thought that was large.

Tulsa is the premiere gun show in the entire country.

Better than the Vegas Shot Show.

Plan on spending the night, cause there's no way you can see it all in one day.

I met a guy from Australia at the show a couple years ago. Only reason he came to the US. He said it was on his bucket list. So yes people come from all over the world.

If you are into gun shows, the Wanenmacher is like the hadj. Make your way around the outer row of tables seven times and throw some change at one of the guys selling cheap knives. Also, the line to get in the door should be enough to make advocates of social distancing stroke out, so you might have to step over them in the parking lot.

This is one thing which concerns me, I'm not a fan of long lines; as a matter of fact, I avoid them at all costs

I didn't realize that adance/VIP tickets let you skip to the front of the line. It would probably save you a half hour or more for no extra cost.

First time I went, I went about 15 minutes before the doors opened and probably waited 45 minutes to get in. The second time, I arrived about an hour after they opened and only had to wait a couple of minutes.

Most of the people in line are to buy a ticket.

While I did not see it on the Website tonight, they used to offer a "Phantom Dealer" badge for $75 that allowed you entrance on Friday (when the really good cherry picking happens) and entrance/exit through any dealer only door (multiple locations with no line).

and dudes at each table would assist you in every way, just to show off their knowledge.
same way with every firearm in history.

wanna build a Winchester 1873...AR...some sort of French rifle from 1744.
the experts are there.

If you're anywhere near the Tulsa area, the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Museum, in nearby  Oklahoma City, is well worth a visit.

Even by Texas standards, Olklahoma City is not nearby Tulsa.  They're hours apart.  Claremore is nearby Tulsa and has this:

I respectfully disagree. They used to be 2 of the best in town, but have faded over the years.

I would take Bluestone Steakhouse and Seafood or Polo Grill over those two every time.

I grew up in Tulsa and my first gun show experience was the Wannemacher. I thought the other gunshows were going to be equally kick ass.  MY disappointment. But yes it generally is. Lot of vendors. Black rain ordinance and ARFCOM folks were there a few years back. Not sure if they still open a booth but there are a lot of people. And a lot of beef jerky and belt and belt buckles. :)
