I survived! At this point the surgery appears that it was successfull! We have to wait for the final word from the testing labs, but the surgeons feel they were able to get the tumor removed and safe margins all the way around. I am in a lot of pain and have a lot of pain medication, so this is going to be short, but I wanted to let you guys know I am o.k.

Surgery to remove my pancreatic tumor. If you wouldn't mind sending a prayer up to our good Lord asking for his healing power to work through my surgeon's hands I would greatly appreciate it. It is going to be a fairly complicated surgery. They are going to remove my gall bladder, 1/2 of my stomach, part of my small intestine and about 2/3 of my pancreas. Then re-plumb everything back together. I will be in the hospital for at least a week, so at least I will get to catch up on ARFCOM. 
Thanks for all of your prayers and well wises to this point. The surgery is the halfway mark with 3 months of chemo to follow. I have never been so excited and scared at the same time. Glory be to God! I know what you're going through. Around July 2015 I found out I had prostate cancer and a cancerous neuroendocrine tumor. First I had the prostate removed and the margins were safe. Three months latter I had the tumor removed. The tumor was inside the small intestine close to the elium valve. They removed the section where the tumor was, 25 lymph nodes, the elium valve, gallbladder, and the appendix., then reconnected the pipeline. Pathology came back safe margins with seven lymph nodes being cancerous. Four months latter repeated all the tests and everything was unremarkable. I hope your margins are safe and you don't need chemo or cancer suppression drugs. |

Best wishes OP! My Dad was diagnosed with Stage-4 Multiple Myeloma five years ago. We were pretty sure we were going to lose him. Dad went through all the hells of Chemo' (And it IS pretty horrible) but, he's doing great five years later and is testing Cancer Free these days. Good luck man. |

Here for the updates....When you're feeling better I will IM for details. Wife is getting pretty much sick of the chemo. Whipple surgery is (from what we have been told) about a 5 month healing process. The chemo is tough. The whipple was tougher but it is better than the alternative. May God bless your wife and guide her doctors. Feel free to IM me. |
