Quoted: Talked to a surgeon friend of mine a few years back. He said the stuff made/sold for animals isn't held to the same production standards as the rx stuff for humans. I need to bump up my Chewy order to get free shipping and am thinking or adding a bottle to the order. Anyone else store or tried using fish/bird antibiotics when sick with something familiar? Did it work? Thanks There are plenty of online pharmacies to get human grade stuff. Skip the vet horseshit. |
| I'm allergic to penicillin /amoxycillin . I wouldn't know what to get to make sure I don't get any from the penicillin family of drugs. I know most anything ends in "cillin" would have it. Before the chinese flu came and wiped out any other form of illness they were worried about overusing antibiotics, don't know if that's still a thing or not but it seems like some of the basic ones should be OTC maybe with a pharmacist consult. |

I searched for the specific types themselves..... dox, ceph, metro Type those in and it come up right at the top of the screen. Makes me curious what other things I can get at Chewy or wherever labeled for animals that I would need a script/etc. for elsewhere??? |

If microvesicular steatosis due to a high dose of tetracycline has virtually disappeared, it can also be observed with other drugs belonging to the tetracycline family. To our knowledge, hepatotoxicity induced by doxycycline has never been reported. In our patient, the abrupt onset of hepatic failure, five days after the start of doxycycline and the rapid normalization after the drug was stopped, leads to suspect a causal relationship between doxycycline and liver insufficiency.
