I guess im going to start off page two! first of all, thank you to @dlm1984 for stepping up to take care of us for the weekend as voluntold match director. A true giant above men. second of all, the cooks! @Multisdew @B-stitch of the CHUNGUS slop wagon killed it again. third of all, the range staff, amazing job guys. Let me tell you a story thats about a decade old. My first event I took last place, I couldnt shoot worth a shit with some chinese AR I built using a carpentry hammer, pipe wrenches and some questionable stabilizing devices. I learned a lot. fast forward to this year and, low and behold I showed up on Saturday to find out @spiritzerothree knocked me out of 5th place. literally started at the bottom, now were 6th place. This event was by far the most chill i have ever seen an event, just some dudes, out having the time of their life with maybe a half hour of miserableness in the mix. No Pre-run jitters, no anxiety, no pressure to move things along, just bliss on the mountaintops of Wild and wonderful. When I showed up @dlm1984 said hey go make an obstacle, and ill be dammed only 53% of competitors completed the balance beam. the obstacles were not hard, however they were technical. this was my first event clearing all the obstacles, yes thats right, the 120# dude did it. In under 6 minutes, no restarts. the rifle I chose for this event was a adm cola reciever set with a SD3G trigger, rosco 12.5 in barrel, omega can, elcan 1-4 optic. WAS THIS THE RIGHT CHOICE? NO. ABSOUTLY NOT. HOWEVER, the only rifle target I missed was the hvt. Pistol, CZ Shadow 2 SAO was this the right choice? maybe? With i think 5 pistol penalties i should probably work on one hand shooting, especially my left. and maybe bring more bullets next time, but stendos are kinda hard to find. round count for rifle was 71 and pistol was 34 because I ran out. the COF for me was fantastic, I ran with literally no wind if any, maybe 1-3 mils adjustment. I especially liked the extended range time to move here and then shoot there, it really stepped this event up. take aways, run what you train with, it will help you. advice to @dlm1984 if we do this in the future, maybe split up the range time, for example here is shooting station 1 you have 5 mins, move to #2 you now have 5 mins, station #3 you have 5 mins. something like that could help move runners along and we could stagger starts that way like they did at shadowhawk at that run and gun. finally I would like to thank @PaddlinFoolWV for helping us with the range, this was a world class event my dude. I cant wait to do it again! let me get back to my rocket pop twea and I hope to see y'all in the NEAR future! |
| First, huge shout out to the sponsors, staff, and the kitchen crew. These events wouldn’t happen without you guys. Fun course, great food, and some pretty cool prizes. Had a great time as usual and always enjoy catching up with old friends and making some new ones. I thought the course was challenging enough without being impossible. I did struggle with the pig target, but on arriving home and unpacking, I realized I 100% screwed that up myself even before I started my run. All my impacts were low on that target and the previously mentioned foliage surrounding it made seeing my misses impossible. Well, it helps if you write down the correct dope on your range card prior to your run. I was a full .8 MILS low because I wrote a zero instead of and 8 (lesson learned, double check your numbers before your run). Other than that, minimal mistakes were made, definitely found some things to improve on and can’t wait for the next event. Thanks again to everyone who made this event happen. |

Quoted: Word to the homies who dumped the entire trash can looking for the bolt that was in the shotgun the whole time ![]() That was my dumb ass ;-) I'm going to have to donate a real AK to this event just so I don't have to deal with that stupid shotgun. I had a great time. Shout out to Dale for letting me argue with him about the course and obviously everything else he does. Props to the kitchen, and everyone who worked on stuff. Thanks to Nick for getting the shirts printed. I showed up with a rifle and pistol that didn't work, and some skills to work on, so I'm already looking forward to next year. I'll send in $200 now. Peepsmaker II, a double dose of fees. -Thew |

Increasing that to 30 means that nearly 3 hour times would be typical. Also, to Jimmer's point about 5 minute stages: We could probably do that with additional people helping out, since it's already tough enough to record accurate range time starts while spotting. However, including some movement in the shooting time was designed to penalize fatties like me who would walk in order to do better at shooting. IMO, this helps fit individuals to place better and that's something we should aspire to do. However, I'm open to exploring the option if that's what competitors want. |

If we got a 5 minute timer like Troy suggested or something shooter enter the box and start your timer |
