People love labels because they think applying a label some how bolsters their argument, but that is just a logical fallacy. As it has been said many times: 1) They update the money ALL THE TIME. The primary reason is to keep adding security features for anti-counterfeiting. Another reason is engraving plates have a finite life. If you recall they revamped the money in 1998 and 2003. Were you claiming it was a waste then? Or in 1992? 1977? 1969? 1963? 1950? 1948? Etc etc. They are going to redesign the money anyway, Even if it was Andrew Jackson again, it doesn't cost any thing more or take any additional time. So your first point is baseless. 2) You can always find someone who you might think is more deserving, but to say Tubman is not deserving is bullshit. 300 people? You think fighting for abolition affected 300 people? What are you smoking? Is that all you think she did? I mean could you at least read the wiki article to get an overview of the very interesting life she lead. She also was fought for woman's' suffrage, which affected a few more people than 300. And I HIGHLY doubt the criticism would be any different for your two choices. (I bet they would suggest Tubman as an alternative.) 3) While we have used presidents in the past, in the past we also had many non-presidents on money. Again just read through the thread to see examples. Furthermore just about every other country in the world now features people other than political leaders. We have many great American's, there is no reason to not show off more of them. So again, you have no rational argument for rejecting Tubman. You can't even suggest someone better.
