The technology of war changes over time between favoring offense and favoring defense in specific domains. The revolution in low cost precision (small drones) shifts massively towards the offense in the air domain. There is no viable strategy to eliminate the risk from drones. There will be losses, notable ones, in all future conflicts until a significant technological change happens. Building more C-RAM's doesn't fix this, C-RAM isn't going to stop nap of the earth drone attacks with the level of reliability you seem to expect. Losses will happen and are part of conflict. Conflict is part of reality. Let's not be fragile. We did some early tests related to that, over two decades ago, at one of my past jobs. A group of us would fly during lunch, and repeatedly proved how several cheap "drones" could gang up on a single, larger drone and through various means (direct damage from collisions, disrupting airflow to cause a loss of control, or forcing it to make course changes that caused it either fly into the ground or lose control and fall to the ground) bring the larger drone to the ground. Deployment for defense of a high value target would likely follow a process of keeping a rotation of search drones aloft to give as much warning as possible of an incoming threat at low altitude, followed by the intercepting drones being launched to make suicidal attacks on that incoming threat. The split would be driven by the difference in requirements between the two types - more battery in the search drones to improve their loiter time and power their sensors, with less battery bulk in the interceptor drones to improve their acceleration and maneuverability. |

Ali Larijani: Iran’s missile depots remain fully operational. He said claims that Iran’s missile capability has been destroyed are “just wishful thinking,” adding that Iranian strikes against the U.S. will continue and that Washington must understand it can no longer attack Iran without consequences.
A few initial takeaways from this event: - Kan News reports that Israel has officially decided to expand its target bank to include oil refineries and storage tanks. Halting cashflow from exports and limiting domestic supply would hamper supply chains and increase inflation even further. - If Israel launches a broader energy destruction campaign, their intentions would be to create the conditions necessary to precipitate social instability. Merely striking governmental and military targets hasn't had this effect. - How far Israel is able to go with this campaign depends on how much damage Iran can inflict on Gulf refineries, export terminals, LNG plants, and tankers. They'll of course utilize the Fattah-2, Khorramshahr-4, Kheibar Shekan, Qassem Bashir, and Sejil for strikes on the Haifa and Ashdod refineries, along with offshore gas fields. BTC pipeline would also be on the cards. They'd hope to drive an even deeper wedge between US & GCC so Trump forces Israel to stop. |
The Saudi Defense Ministry said its forces shot down a drone east of Riyadh, as Reuters reports that Riyadh informed Iran that the ongoing of attacks on Saudi Arabia and its energy sector may push it to retaliate. Earlier today, four waves of Iranian drones targeted the Shaybah oil field.

For those that may know: Why in the fuck have the other countries in the ME that have been getting hit with missiles and drones for over a week now, not retaliated? Is it islam? Is it because Israel is the other big player (this seems the most obvious to me)? At what point do these other nations say enough, now we join in taking you down? |

They live there and have to be ready to have regime change not happen, and the possibility of a pissed off Iran in the future after our planes and ships go home. This conflict has also shown a few drones and missiles can shut down the straight and airports like Dubai which is the largest passenger hub in the world. Kuwait is geographically a stones throw away from Iranian soil. |
