I think 30 is when most people hit the wall. Until then I looked forward to my birthdays, there was always something new and exciting, be it drinking at 21, graduating college at 22, married at 23, cheaper insurance at 25, buying a home at 26, etc...After 30 it kind of feels repetitive. Same job, same house, not much change.
I think the two least favorite things about getting older is my physical condition, while im in better shape than most my friends at 30, Im just not like I was in my mid 20s. The other is my jobs, the thought of doing this 5 days a week for the next 30 years is brutally depressing. Luckily my wife is on board with early retirement and we are saving and invest with hopes of retiring in our 40s. Once we hit a level of wealth that can produce enough passive income to sustain a comfortable middle class like style say $50k+ a year we are going to quit the 9-5. If you asked any 80+ year old millionaire if they would give up all of their wealth if they could be 40 years old again, they would do it in a heart beat. To me that is early retirement, its the realization that money is infinite but time is a finite resource. I think they key is to find a balance, you don't want to spend so much money when you're young that you cant afford to retire and you die in debt, but you also don't want to work until your 70s so you can have millions of dollars but then be so old you don't have the time or enjoy to it. You need to find that happy medium. |

And I really gave the at the dating an Asian woman thing! Didn't sound like you...Actually, last pic I saw BES looks too much like a shorter version of my best friend's sister, which kinda creeps me out (not in a bad way, more like a "seeing my cousin in her underwear is not hot" kind of way). |

I remember a recent ARFCOM poll asking about everyone's age and it showed that the majority of the board is >35 years old. So, this is an 'old' board.
Also, if you go about looking at the 'would you hit it' threads and notice the age gap, you guys are a bunch of dirty old men. |

Men statistically from ages 18-50 find women in their early 20s to be the most attractive. Men are strongly attracted to a womens physical features which indicates her ability to have children, so a women in her mid to early 20s best fits this role. Women on the other hand prefer a man roughly the same age as them up until age 40, as they continue to age past 40 and into their 50s they still find a 40 years old man to be the most attractive. They are looking for providers and protectors, men in their 40s are usually financially well off (provider) yet are still young enough to be strong and have decent stamina (protector). |

I'm "damn near 50." One of my job duties is to run PT. I regularly smoke guys 1/2 my age. So, I don't think I'm old. On the other hand, I have to shave my ears and nose and trim my eyebrows. So, maybe I am old. When the barber asked if I wanted my eyebrows trimmed. I said " What are you talking about ? " she said " Its time, I'll get your ears too " Uh ok That was mid 40s |

My Dad was pretty much a total badass until he hit his late 60's. He's starting to slow down now. Every day we would load two 16' trucks 8 high with small square bales and drive them out there. Around 12 tons. I am the age now that he was then. I can't imagine how hard that was for him but he never complained once. |
| I don't consider myself old, but I have changed in one big way. I've never had kids so I've always just gone out drinking and partying on weekends. I've never really given it much thought. It's just something I do. These days, though, I usually end up at low key brewpubs. I went out with a group of younger friends for a birthday and we ended up at a club. It was too loud and too crowded and I was just miserable. I didn't think I'd ever be too old for a club, but obviously I am. |

When you can no longer pull 25yo tail from the gender you are attracted to. My revelation came when I was in line at chick-fil-a and the reasonably attractive (7) early 20's cashier said "I like your beard, it has that little bit of grey like my dad's".

40s are when you start showing classical signs of "old age" and things just start to hurt. Now I just cruise on by without over doing it. The only difference is my hair color and I have to wear glasses when driving. |

Well, you Cajuns age differently than most, so you do have that going for you.. I loved it there when we visited in '09. Clinchamps-sur-Orne was our home base, but we wandered all over the Cotentin Peninsula. |

I'm 51 and had to climb a pole a couple days ago and feel no worse for it.
My apprentice I had that day was cold ( no hot work) , and I couldn't allow him to do it. Didn't amount to much , only up there for 30 minutes at the most. I don't climb much anymore, so I should be good until next year. Always , have to do hurt man rescue at a minimum each year. So , hopefully next time I climb, it will be to just cut down a dummy and that'll be that. |
