This also crossed my mind I'm leaning the other way now after analyzing more video. He shot people coming from the left, as well as a family with a child that came walking from the right. He also shot up the white car that passed in front of him. I think he pulled up ready to go into a store to shoot, and decided to start blasting outside. If Allen PD wasn't already there, who knows how bad it could've been. If traffic gridlocked, it would've been open season for a while. |

Unless there was something I desperately needed from my vehicle, such as meds, I would have no problem leaving on foot. I would either find a way to kill time until the scene is clear, or find a way home like taking a bus or Uber. I do not consider myself more important than the police's need to investigate this crime. I would give them time to work, and worry about my vehicle later. Would you really stomp your way through an active investigation of a murder scene and demand access to your vehicle?! That sounds rather self-centered and foolish to me.
