I think chrome1 got it backwards. gas ignites easily, diesel does not. Injectors and o rings can both fail, especially as higher pressures in newer vehicles. Have seen a few tires blow out once they get heated up from a fire. |
Uh, no. the Tiger had a gasoline engine. The reason the Tiger kicked ass was armor protection and the best anti-tank gun of World War II. The Germans couldn't afford diesel for their tanks and U-boats. Oh, and sorry 'bout your truck bro. Hope things work out for you. |
i belive firmly it was a fuel rail leak or fuel line ....i mean hell after looking at it closer the head covers were actually melted along with the trans cooling radiator...all the pulleys...hell a electrical fire doesnot get that hot.....and also the hood is melted to the fenders

What part of HEAT ALONE , didn't you understand . But here is a little science experiment for you . Heat a piece of metal to °500 then take an eye dropper and drip gasoline on it , the gas will boil and evaporate . Now do the same with diesel . |

Last year cruising in a 02 Ford F-350 Dually. All o f a sudden Smoke Rolling out the back and then the clutch started slipping. As I pulled over the guy riding with me bailed when it slowed to ten miles an hour. It didn't catch fire. Turns out that the high PSI fuel line rubbed on something until a hole appeared in it . |

no it is insured...i owe 10k...paid 19.4k for it once you figure in the personal belonging costs the depreacion and what i paid on the back end i will be out 5k..but it was 2 years of transportation so it really works out if i can get full retail of 17.5k with the personal stuff that was ruined . but i am mostlikely going to be out about 2 or 3 k when it is all said and done because of the intrest i paid

If anything I would think that gas would be MUCH easier to ignite from heat considering that the whole point of diesel is to get a much higher compression out of the engine before the fuel detonates pre-maturely. High compression = high heat. Diesel engine = much higher compression than gas engine. |
