About these DC Industries Yugo builds:
DCI stands for Dan Coonan Industries. He and Harlan,who used to run Federal Arms Corp of Fridley Minnesota started a joint venture to bring the best AK receiver possible to the U.S. market. The first ones are for the Yugo variants,fixed and underfolder. These kits came from the wars in the former Yugoslavia. Century Arms started selling these Yugo underfolder kits built on a U.S. built barrel. The receiver is 1.5mm thick and has a reinforced trunnion.The Yugos built these to stand up to the rigors of extensive grenade launching,as part of their small arms doctrine. Most AKMs have a receiver thickness of 1mm. The Yugo is built more like a RPK (Eastern Bloc squad automatic weapon) then AKM. When you flip up the grenade sight on the gasblock, the weapon is in the single shot mode. You can get the grenade spigot for these and launch dummy grenades.
