Purchasing .300 Blackout or 5.56mm for use in any of the dozens of AR type pistols on the market? Now it’s handgun ammunition. Since we can’t possibly know which gun a specific round is going to be used in we have to err on the side of caution and assume it’s going in a pistol and again, handgun ammo can only be sold to someone over 21 years of age. So company policy clearly stated is sales of ammunition must be to those over 21 and we ship it (and we pay about 20% more because of it) to make sure it arrives in our intended customer’s hands that ordered it and that the customer is of legal age to make that purchase. While we appreciate the business we aren’t going to put the company in jeopardy by shipping ammunition without verifying the legal age of the recipient. It’s not to make things difficult for you, it’s to ensure some dirtbag doesn’t wind up with YOUR AMMO because it was left unattended on a porch all day while at the same time ensuring the end recipient is an adult and complying with the law. It also ensures you don’t come home to a water soaked box when a driver decided to leave it in the rain because we know it was handed to a responsible adult who is going to do responsible adult things with it and secure it from theft and the elements. We deal with more than 1,500 firearms and ammunition regulations in all 50 states and they change constantly. Our management team has mandated 100% compliance with all local, state and Federal law and as such, that bar is set at ALL ammunition shipments must go to adults, 21 years of age, adult signature required and then, depending on what locale it’s going to in some cases it requires us to only ship ammunition to an FOID card holder (they have to provide that on top of age requirement) or in other locales it actually requires us to only ship ammunition to a Federal Firearms Licensee and those customers have to actually go pick up their ammo from a licensed dealer. And all of this we clearly put in writing both in our group buy where we clearly state ALL AMMUNITION SHIPS ADULT SIGNATURE REQUIRED as well as on the website when someone orders from Global. A couple months ago we could sell semi-automatic rifles to anyone in Florida over the age of 18, now with new regulations in our state that has been changed to 21. Doesn’t matter if we agree with it, it’s the law currently and there’s very serious consequences for not adhering to it. What other sellers choose to do is up to them but hopefully they are acting responsibly. So we trust that answers the question as fully and transparently as possible. We don’t have to agree with the laws but as long as they are the law, we have to comply with them. Finally, both Fedex and UPS offer options where you can schedule your delivery to arrive in a time window of your choosing. They cannot redirect a package to another address but they can deliver in a time window that does work for you.
