An ESAPI plate is a physically larger plate than a 10x12 plate. If your a larger person and/or want/need to cover more of you with a plate, you would choose an ESAPI plate and a large carrier. The trade off is weight/ amount of area (your body) protection. S/M carrier will fit a 10x12 plate. L/XL carrier will fit an ESAPI plate. So determine how much of "you" you want covered in armor. Then measure your body diameter to choose a cummerbund size. I use a cloth tape measure.The cummerbund is how you fit the entire carrier to your body. |
