| Took my last ASE recertification today, it used to be held at one of the local community colleges but now at least here in my part of NC you take it at a privately ran test center. The one I went to was PROMETRIC. I don't know what other people test there for but I'm fairly confident no one is going to extremes to collect test data for resale in my field. Had to empty my pockets and turn them out, shut off my cellphone, pull my pants above my socks, get scanned with a wand and have my glasses examined for electrical devices, all for a test that took 22 minutes including the preview and the survey afterwards. I'm sure having proctored testing is needed for some situations but seemed a little excessive, I would have asked the guys doing the check in and check out but they didn't seem too chatty. |

Congrats on the re-cert. I have used Prometric (and it predecessors) going back to 1995 for IT certs (Cisco, Novell, Lotus, Microsoft and others). For about 5 years I was IT manager at a testing facility. You would be amazed at what people will try to either steal test answers or to cheat on the exams. You got inconvenienced because people are assholes!! Congrats again!! |
