Safariland 771 or 773 mag pouches

I am building a new 3 Gun belt. Which Safariland pistol mag pouch do you guys recommend/prefer? 771 or 773

Most 3gun guys go with the closed one to ensure retention versus the one with the open slot.

That would be the 773. I came here to post the same question since i am doing the same thing. I'm setting up a belt for using a Glock 17/19.
