spent about 2 hours in the pouring rain at my monthly 3 gun this morning. i need some decent rain gear.
what do yall use? |

I went with the Cabella's house brand Goretex rainsuit for my trip to Africa fifteen years ago.
Still going strong and I've worn it at work a bunch. Can even sit in water without leakage. Launder it correctly and renew the coating once a year and those shells will give good service. I use ReviveX. |

it's not cheap stuff....but I've learned to swear by the Sitka brand rain gear. I've spent DAYS out hunting in serious downpour conditions and I cannot begin to praise how great their stormfront rain gear is! it breaths awesome and keeps you bone dry in the worst of conditions. it's also pretty tough stuff and has held up to some serious abuse over the last 4 years..no signs of serious wear or malfunction. the only place I've seen some very minor wear is on the shoulders right where the shoulder straps of my pack contact my body...and that's after combined weeks worth of hiking with a hunting pack that weighed anywhere between 25-60lbs.

I was recently in a similar rain at ATL3G...
I wore nylon rain pants, cabelas duck boots, and a US Mil gortex jacket. Moisture wicking shirts underneath. I know camo is kinda frowned on for 3Gun, but I was the only dry guy in my squad. However, I was not totally dry. I ran most of the stages with the gortex snapped behind my back. |
