| Ive been loading doubles for a little while and just started loading quads but Im running into an issues I can't seem to find anyone else talking about. Im having an issue where the rim on the first shell wants to get caught under the crimp on the second shell when loading and really makes it hard to get the shells in smoothly, and its slowing me down. Is this a technique issue on my part? Am I needing to do something different in the way Im grabbing or trying to push them in? It seems like if I tip the barrel more towards the ground and really put some force behind it they slide in a little easier but they still want to catch. Im shooting a stoeger M3000 which I just had a local gunsmith open up the loading port some. Its not as open as I would have liked and I may do a little work on it myself so Im not sure if my gun is the issue, me, or a combination. I normally assume its me and not the gun but Im fairly new to 3 gun and haven't had the chance to get any one on one training from anyone locally yet. Any help or suggestions is much appreciated. |

The more I practice and work on it the more I think its probably technique related. Im wondering if I need to move the shells towards the gun in a flatter path instead of more at an angle like I feel I may be doing. I've seen people remove material at the front of the trigger guard to help quad load better and I don't feel like my hand or the shells gets all that close so maybe Im not coming in flat enough? |

Have you smoothed out the bump between the chamber and the mag tube? That always caused me issues on stock gun. I would notice the shells had a sticky spot which maybe what your feeling instead of the issue you mention here.
The Other option i would suggest is trying some smooth hull shells like AA's or STS. |
