Would this be legal to use on a shotgun or use as a second sight on a rifle in the Tac Optics division? It looks like it's just a big fiber optic sight. |

It does not have a reticle that is placed over/on the target. You must put the triangle underneath the target and look over it similar to rifle sights.
The rear lens functions like a rear sight in that you must line up the fiber optic with it to see the triangle at all. |

I used one in lowlight this past week, and in that situation it was worse than iron sights because the fiber optic did not gather enough light to work even with a surefire scout light on.
The 2 Gun Action Challenge Match here in Tucson is allowing them on rifles in Iron sight division. It is much more similar to using irons albeit with a very short sight radius than modern optics. |
