***ignore this post. I've bought one*** Didn't want to make a new thread. Skip to #3 I have never been a shotgunner. I don't hunt birds or do any shotgun sports. My lone shotgun collected dust in the safe for many years until I started going to 3-gun practice at my club. I used what I have, but it's time for an upgrade. I have an old Mossberg 500 with wood furniture and a bead sight. I considered upgrading it, and while there are a lot of parts & accessories available, I'm thinking that with the cost of buying a barrel, mag tube, stock, sights, sight mount, getting the receiver tapped.... I might as well buy something that's more suitable to my purposes - a 'tactical' shotgun seems like a good option. Yes, my intended budget has me looking at Turkish guns. I don't want to be a pro 3-gunner, just looking to have a bit of fun shooting. I'm not asking for a specific model or brand to buy. I'm asking for more general tips on features to look for or avoid. I've been comparing them online for price and features, but a person who has not spent much time shooting one, I'm not too confident in shopping for them now |

So, I bought a MAC 1014. It will be a dedicated 3-gun piece. I got the base model. Give me some tips on how you've set up your gaming gun and save me from spending time and money on stuff I won't like. I bought it online, and it's not here yet. This is the one I bought: Attached File |

I use an Esstac 7rd shotgun card on the left side and the new Emissary Plus 1 on the right side—the bolt release means that it’s not ideally placed though. For the belt look at the EZ8 Attached File |

Also, did you shorten your stock? I have some questions/comments about the other stuff, but I don't want to derail the shotgun thread. About the only advantage is the added backpressure for cycling light loads (besides the fact that it’s less concussive and somewhat quieter). The stock is a Mesa Tactical I put on, non adjustable. I like the LOP, the factory is quite long. |

The practice is pretty flexible, and no one is really picky as long as everyone is safe and not doing dumb shit. Maybe one day I'll try doing a competition, but I'm not there yet. Right now, I'm just working on guns and gear. I'll practice and refine that gradually. |
