After almost 30 years of shooting matches, this year is the first time I’ve shot matches scored by hit factor vs time plus, and I hate it.

Here’s an example, small steel plate match on Saturday scored by hit factor.  I finished 3rd, 2nd if you throw out the PCC. Winner had 5 more misses than I did and only beat me by 7 seconds. In time plus scoring those 5 misses would be an additional 25 seconds.

Anyone else struggle throwing caution to the wind and just shoot fast in hit factor matches?

USPSA / IPSC has always been hit factor.

It's what I'm used to.

.....I forget what [cough] IDPA does,  usually too distracted by the angry old fart RO yelling about where my knee was

I think I’ve only shot 1 or 2 actual IDPA matches in my life. I primarily shoot “wildcat” matches.
