I'm doing all kinds of shooting competitions now…3gun, 2gun, USPSA, Steel, IDPA. Each has got its own rules and requirements. Sometimes I can offset lower the holster, sometimes I can't. Sometimes I just need a holster and 2 mag pouches and sometimes I need as many shotgun caddies as I can possible fit on a belt. Sometimes it's set for the entire match, sometimes for diverse 3gun matches I'm changing it up every stage. I've been using the DSG Arms brand of belts, both the competition belt (velcro inner & outside gear) and their 1.5" Alpha belt and both have been great belts…got me through a lot of training classes and beginner matches and still going strong. But now I'm thinking of breaking it down into 3 belts. I figure if I set 3 different belts for 3 different competition types, I won't be overhauling the belts all the time. A few things I know will probably jump around like my tek-lok pistol pouches and ELS holsters.
- IDPA - belt level holster & 2-3 mag pouches, inner/outer belt not allowed (DSG Alpha) - USPSA/Steel - lower offset holster & 3-5 mag pouches (DSG competition belt) - 3gun - everything must be easy to get off/on and belt has to be inner/outer & stiff (2-5 shotgun caddies, lower offset holster, 2 AR mag pouches, 2-4 pistol mag pouches) For the 3gun belt, I'm thinking of getting a Double Alpha competition belt (minimal outer belt overlap to waste space). What do you guys do? |

I use the same belt rig for USPSA and multigun...but I'm an old man, and have a good match when I don't fall down... I opted for a larger 2" Uncle Mikes belt with underbelt... Blade Tech DOH WRS and Blade Tech mag holders with TecLok so can configure with AR mag holders for multigun... 4 shell trays as opposed to the 6 shell in the photo... a 3gun gear diagonal strap helps hold up the belt and place for slugs/buck if needed

| I have 2 belt rigs 1 for USPSA and Steel Challenge, 1 for 3-Gun. I use different holsters on each. Ghost race holster for USPSA/Steel Challenge, Blade Tech DOH for 3-Gun. I prefer to just leave my belts set up and not have to worry about changing the set up between matches. |

I do get questions every once in a while as to why I have AR mag pouches on my belt at USPSA or Steel Challenge matches sometimes. It's easier to just leave it there. |

IDPA: My thick carry belt and some carry gear stuff USPSA: 1-Production; 1-Single stack It would be painful to adjust it so much every week. |
