Narrowed it down to one of the above any opinions on either for PSG? Due to our stupid laws it’s going to be very difficult to try before I buy although I may be able to arrange something. |

| Both are great shotguns, can't really go wrong with either. Benelli M2 has been the benchmark for a long time. I bought the Beretta 1301 recently and really like it a lot. The Beretta was a tad cheaper. The Benelli is recoil operated while the Beretta is gas operated. I found my Beretta can cycle low recoil 00 buckshot while the Benelli had a harder time cycling such light loads from my experiences. I was really surprised by the Beretta to cycle such a light load in a semi-auto shotgun. Most semi-auto shotguns need something with a bit more recoil to cycle properly. |

I had this notion in my head that the berreta might cycle faster and have less muzzle flip because it’s gas operated but I’m basing this on pure guess work. Handling them both ( not firing) they were pretty much the same but the benelli did seem to fit me slightly better. Interesting about cycling lower power stuff better on the berreta . Price wise I’ve there the berreta is cheaper but only comes with one choke and 5 shot tube. So when you add longer magazine and chokes the work out pretty much the same. I guesss they are going to be pretty much close enough as to not be an issue as you say. |
